Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

I am over 80 and I love the show. It’s a great respite from all the crime dramas on network TV. It’s a wonderful show and it should definitely be renewed. The acting and writing are great. Hallmark you have a good thing going. Let’s see a Seasonn5!

Yes. My husband and I both enjoy this show. We go out of our way to watch it or record it if we can’t watch it when it is scheduled.
By all means, this is such a wonderful show with life learning storys and it has alot of heart.

When Calls the Heart should be renewed for a 5th season! It has great stories and the actors are absolutely amazing! Don’t watch much television, but since this show came on, I never miss an episode! I hope it is renewed! Jack and Elizabeth need to reunite!
When Calls The Heart should definitely be renewed! The stories are great, and the actors are absolutely amazing! I don’t watch much television, but with this series, I never miss it! It brings back memories of old programs like “Little House on the Prairie”, which I loved and watched faithfully. I am aware that Michael Landon Jr created this series based on Jeanette Oke’s books. I really hope this series is renewed for a 5th season (and hopefully more seasons)! Jack and Elizabeth need to be reunited!
Oh my goodness, yes there should be a season 5. What a fantastic program!!! Our whole family is hooked – including the men in our family. The moral values in When Calls the Heart are Tremendous!!!!! Please, Please, Please…..we are true Hearties. It should be a no brainer as season 5 should already be in the making!!!!
Yes, there should be a season 5! When Calls the Heart is like a breath of fresh air in today’s TV programming. Besides, the devoted viewers are waiting to see Jack and Elizabeth’s wedding!
This is a program that my wife and I have followed from its beginning. A very, wholesome story. We will be sad if it is not continued

Both my husband and I watch When Calls the Heart and hope Season 5 –
It is a wonderful show – a wonderful addition to the Hallmark Channel – allowing us to remember the struggles of the past and how blessed we are today.
I do hope they will have a season 5 with continued great story line and wonderful actors and scenery.

Hallmark movies and especially Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” series are the ONLY TV programming I look forward to watching.
I sincerely pray that Hallmark continues to stand strong against the mainstream trends and continues to focus on traditional values, Family, Faith in GOD, and Community.
Hallmark programming is a breath of fresh air and great programming for a large group of people that still believe in traditional values.
