Episode two was down slightly to a 3.1 in the demographic and 11.67 million viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot and outperformed last year’s episode by 10%. One wonders how much better the show would be doing if Dancing with the Stars was having a better season.

The drama had a healthy kick-off to the season with a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 13.28 million viewers. Year-to-year, it was up by 19% in the demo (2.7) and 24% in total viewership (10.70 million). It was a close second to the premiere of Hawaii Five-0 on CBS which likely got a boost from the return of Two and a Half Men. This was Castle’s best season premiere and nearly matched the show’s series high record (a 3.3 rating for the season three finale).
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 2.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.67 million viewers.

What do you think? Do you like the Castle TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?

Castle is right up there with NCIS. It has a lot of competition and should get higher numberd in a different time slot. Keep this great show
Absolutely LOVE this show! It’s my favourite! Don’t cancel it!!!
OMG this is one of the best shows, please don’t cancel it.
This is the only show that I look forward to all week. I hope that it will have a 2012-2013 season.
One of only 3 series regularly watch– please renew it
This is hands down one of the few shows that has something for the entire family. Comedy, Drama, Mystery, and Action. Keep it coming.
We love Castle – it is one of the only shows that my family enjoys watching together! We DVR every episode and re-watch them during the off season! Just look at the comments- people LOVE this show. Please, please do not cancel this show! It is a good mystery show without all the swearing and gore. I’m sure you can find something else to cancel before shutting this down! My freshman in high school plans his homework time around this show!
PUHLEEEEZE don’t cancel Castle. It is one of the great ‘Family’ shows on T.V.,although I have no kids 🙂 I even watch all the repeats, waiting for the next new show to come to life!! The characters are great, the story lines keep us in suspense, and the actors are the BEST. It is one of the greatest shows on T.V. Please don’t make this the last season…So many of us will truly be disapointed. Other shows on are full of violence and swearing…you are SO refreshing…Why give up the ghost?
Sincerely,
Diana
“Castle” is always good! It would be a mistake to end it – there is still a lot of life left!
Definitely renew – Castle keeps me coming back week after week!
Castle is an entertaining show with a good cast appropriate to the stories. I trust you will not cancel one of the few shows I watch on your network.
I certainly hope the network will change its mind and re-schedule. I look forward to this series each week; and go to Demand if I miss an episode. Please re-consider cancelation; there are so many other programs need to be canceled —– not Castle.
One of the best shows!:)
Love this show!
Great show ..great twists..keep it going
