NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

I loved this show, it was exciting! The female lead was terrific. I will miss it.
I Agree this show was great. Mad they canceled this. Just like Mercy another show bites the dust.
Great show! What’s wrong with you people? That’s the rason I don’t watch network TV
you only care about ratings. Help us cable/satalite…….
I have read a lot of these comments and could not agree more. We love this show. I do not watch the game show and will be very disappointed if NBC cancel Chase. This is why I stopped watching NBC they never keep the good shows around. If they cancel Chase I will not tune into anymore shows on NBC. Guess CBS, ABC, and TNT will get all my viewing time!
I will miss this show…I looked forward to it every week…the team is great…the show is great…they keep cancelling the good ones…but maybe tnt or tbs will take it…they are fools to cancel it…don’t do it.
NBC sucks bad. Chase was about the best new show on TV. No reason to tune to NBC anymore!
I just love Chase. Annie is a really appealing character. I will be disappointed if it’s canceled. Still. I don’t always get my way.
sure would rather watch CHASE then the ridiculous Minute To Win It !!!!
Why not put it on instead of the ReRuns…I’m sure if people were inclined to watch it once other shows went “away” they would see it has merits and it would establish itself.
I just need to stop liking shows – they always cancel them! I absolutely loved Chase – the characters, the story lines, everything. Hopefully, another network will pick it up.
-The character of Annie Frost is not one the audience empathizes with. Too cold/hard for the public to embrace.
-Story lines were too lame. Need to be more dramatic like Law and Order and less tongue-in-cheek/campy.
I love the show! It was my favorite on tv. I want it back. I dont care what network it is on.
The best show that has been on lately. I cant believe it is not on. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING AT NBC.
I am not happy about this. Chase was one of my favorite shows. It was great when it was on Monday nights! I loved watching to see what Annie was going to do next. It was always an edge of the seater show. I have missed it since December!!
My wife and I looked forward to Chase for the action and acting of the characters. We miss the series and do not like the game show that replaced it.
you have to bring back this show… Annie Frost is an inspiration to women everywhere… I feel like this network always cancels really good shows i.e. Mercy, Trauma, to bring u crap like Harry’s Law and The Cape
If this network doesn’t want it, maybe TNT will take it…. Remember when the fools of NBC cancelled “Southland”?, TNT took it on and it’s doing great! Let’s hope TNT will consider Chase…Really is a great show!!
