NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

What a shame to cancel such a wonderful show. The acting was superb as was the writing. My husband and I never missed a show. So sad to not be able to see Annie and her group. Perhaps they could have given it more PR to entice an audience. My friends didn’t even know about it. When I explained the storyline they couldn’t watch it because it was pulled.
Wow…again?! Please NBC – just stop bringing on crime dramas anymore. Somehow, you come across a really decent series that has something good and different happening, and…POOF. Weeks later, it’s gone again. Chase moves well, has interesting stories and a strong central character. You may as well just stop providing scripted crime series. This is at least three good new ones you’ve cancelled in the last five or six years, just as we get tied into them and looking forward. Chase and L&O – Los Angeles are your two best recent shows, crime drama or otherwise. Not sure why the… Read more »
Keep chase. It’s well done and the actors
do a good job. Kelli Giddish is super hot and a good actress.
do not cancel this show it is a very good show , maybe it will take a little more time until you get the ratings you want but i think that eventually you will see higher ratings… i personally luv the show and think the cast is very talented.. please keep it on, bring it back , show us the last 5 episodes ….
Don’t cancel this show. It is really a great cast. Give it a better time slot and air the last eight episodes. It is really a Friday or Saturday night show.
Idiots. Chase is a great show. they need to put it on thur. night and at a decent time. maybe if they do cancel cbs will pick it up.
Just what we DONT need is another stupid game show! Chase was a household MUST SEE show weekly. Why can’t the idiots let us have a decent adult show???????????? Love the cast, a real good mix which ONLY added to the whole climate of the show! BRING CHASE BACK!!!!!!
only show on network tv that I watched
My husband and I loved watching this show! Full of action and emotions.
I certainly hope they bring it back!
I really enjoyed chase. I would rather watch chase than a minute to win it. Chase is the only time that I ever watched anything on NBC.
Don’t cancel Chase, it is one of my favorites.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chase!!! Bring it back
I miss seeing Chase!!!! Please do not cancel the show.
I think Chase is one of the best new shows that NBC has had in a LOOOOONNNG time! Why do they keep cancelling these shows before they have a chance to pick up more of an audience? I’m sad. I truly enjoyed it.
I love Chase, don’t cancel it!
