NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

If NBC would leave a show in the same time slot for at least a month, the show will catch on!! I love this show , on of my favs…please dont cancel!!!
I agree with everyone , They need to stop moving shows times around and not tell people when its on . the only reason I knew it was on this time was My DVR had it programed and recorded it other wise I would not have known it started airing again. I love this show and Hope it can continue on NBC or another network.
I love this show please do not cancel it !!!!!!!!!!
I love this show; please don’t cancel
I’m pissed! I don’t like all those game shows or people fighting over stupid things. I loved this show. You can’t put a new show up against ones that are high on ratings. Why do they try to fit everything in during the week. The weekend is when most people like to watch tv. Can I say Hello Jimmy!
This was a great show. Made a big mistake by canceling it. NBC has very few shows left that are any good.
Why would they cancel this show?? NBC should at least give it till the 2nd season.. This is one of my favorite shows.. I am so disappointed!
Needs to keep shows that have some redemming value. No wonder the network ranks at the bottom.
This is a good show and it needs to stay, somewhere if not NBC, than somewhere!!!!!!
i think the show was good. it did not deserve to be canceld. i believe N.B.C. is losing most of there good writers and there for, they will go mostly to game and realitty shows so they wont have to pay for acting, or writers. most people i talk to say they wont even start watching any N.B.C. shows because you will just cancel them. im starting to feel the same way. i do not watch reality or game shows, so if you want me to watch, either get some better writters and creaters, or keep some of your shows… Read more »
My husband and I love this show. I am so tired of investing time to get into a storyline just to have a network cancel it after one season. So many great shows were not hits the first season. This was my favorite new show of 2010, along with Mike and Molly.
This is one of the best shows on TV. Becky was right. Advertise it and put it behind a good show and you will be surprised at the response you will get.
This is becoming one of my favorite shows plz dont cut it.
This show is awesome! Quit playing around & give it a fair chance. I started out watching it then it just disappeared. Thought it was just because networks have started doing that lately, just making a few shows like for the summer then taking it away. I searched On Demand over & over trying to find it. There is no advertisement for it so people dont know it exists! ADVERTISE & people will watch. Build it & they will come!
NBC has a habit of getting rid of the good sows and keeps crap and they wonder. Why no one watchs NBC. Everytime I get hooked on a good show you cancel it. Keep Chase on!
