Could this be a sign that the show is being brought to a conclusion? Possibly but, Hallmark has also announced their plans for a spin-off movie.
Season four of Chesapeake Shores will debut this summer. Here’s the press release:
HALLMARK CHANNEL GREENLIGHTS FOURTH SEASON OF HIT SERIES ‘CHESAPEAKE SHORES’
“Chesapeake Shores” Part of the Legacy of the Network’s Top 5 Series Sundays
Hallmark Channel announces it has renewed the network’s hit, original series “Chesapeake Shores” for a fourth season. Airing on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, “Chesapeake Shores” was one of Hallmark Channel’s most-watched original series and joins the network’s other primetime scripted shows as a top five-rated series on Sunday nights. Production on six episodes for season four is scheduled to commence this year for a season four premiere Summer 2019. The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Networks’ bi-annual Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.
“Viewers have found a home in their hearts for ‘Chesapeake Shores’ and have consistently made it a top performing show year-after-year,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “We look forward to further exploring the show’s heartfelt and compelling storylines as characters navigate the complexities of life and love,” Vicary concluded.
Based on the novels of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe (“Dallas”), Meghan Ory (“Once Upon a Time”), Golden Globe(R) nominee Treat Williams (“Everwood,” Hair), Academy Award(R) nominee Diane Ladd (Wild at Heart), Barbara Niven (“Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”), Laci J. Mailey (“Falling Skies”), Emilie Ullerup (“Sanctuary”), Brendan Penny (“Motive”) and Andrew Francis (“Final Destination 3”).
The multi-generational family drama “Chesapeake Shores” follows Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to two daughters, as she adjusts to life back in her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Abby now balances a budding relationship with her former high school sweetheart, Trace (Metcalfe), working for a firm that does business with her uncompromising father Mick (Williams) and raising her children. Returning to her hometown means engaging in the lives of her siblings: Jess (Mailey) a free-spirit trying to succeed as a bed and breakfast owner; Bree (Ullerup), a playwright who buys a bookstore in Chesapeake Shores after moving back home from Chicago; Kevin (Penny), a soldier adjusting to civilian life and new romance; and Connor (Francis), a new lawyer establishing his professional career. Having returned to Chesapeake Shores shortly after Abby, the O’Brien’s once-estranged mother Megan (Niven) strives to reestablish relationships with Abby and her siblings, though the O’Brien clan primarily looks to its wise grandmother Nell (Ladd) for guidance.
“Chesapeake Shores” is a Daniel L. Paulson Production. Dan Paulson, Michael Berns, Nancey Silvers and Sherryl Woods are executive producers. Matt Drake serves as producer.
What do you think? Do you like the Chesapeake Shores TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a fourth season? Should season four be the end?
Please do not Cancel Chesapeake Shores!! I absolutely love this show & hope it continues a few more seasons
Yes, it needs to be renewed, at least until you end the series properly. Also, more shows and sooner.
The show should continue for a couple more seasons as the capacity of the actors characters can be explored further.
Good solid family entertainment.
Love this show, please keep going’s!,,
Please don’t take Chesapeake Shores away from us. It’s almost impossible these days to find good, clean family TV to watch. We’ve lost so many wonderful programs in the past, please don’t let this happen to Chesapeake Shores as well. Thank you for giving us a great, clean show to watch again!
I love this show, can’t believe its not on every week though. Hopefully the show continues past season 4. would be nice to know the scedule when its going to be on.
I love Chesapeake Shores and will be so disappointed if it doesn’t renew for a 5th season. I agree with other’s regarding this season only having 6 episodes. That doesn’t make sense to me. With all the reality shows and plan junk that is found on tv these days, it is refreshing to have a show about the closeness of this family. Please don’t take it off the air!!
So disappointed with Hallmark for getting us hooked on these shows and then they’re either pulled (like Cedar Cove…STILL not over THAT) or only running 6 episodes of CShores this season. Not sure what’s going on, but FIX IT!
I am so disappointed. What is going on.

Please renew for Season 5 and make it a full season. Feeling jipped with just 6 episodes… left us hanging.
We were supposed to see six episodes starting August 25. This is October 6, and it’s already off again. When does it come back?
Waiting for the new seasonsssss now!!
Renew for season5
I agree. The short season was Such a disappointment. It’s my husband and I’s Sunday data night.
I was so upset by the short season of Chesapeake Shore , it is by far the best series that Hallmark has done an after waiting a whole year to see these very talented actors again , you cheated us all with 6 Episodes . I so enjoy watching the Hallmark station but after watching the final episode of Chesapeake , I feel extremely disappointed With the way you have treated your viewers with regards to this wonderful family series . I hope you will bring it back next year for a full 10- 12 hours of family viewing or… Read more »
