After a season of mediocre ratings, NBC moved Chicago Fire to follow The Voice. As a result, the show was one of a few network series to go up in the ratings year-to-year. Will the numbers continue to climb? Will it be renewed for a fourth season or could it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Chicago Fire follows the lives and work of the firefighters, rescue squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minso, Yuri Sardarov, and Christian Stolte.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/5 update: NBC has renewed Chicago Fire for a fourth season. Details here.
Final season averages: 1.82 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.42 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Chicago Fire averaged a 2.0 rating in the demo and 7.46 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I can’t get enough of this show. To the drama and the characters it’s great! The firefighters are sexy too. That also helps. I hope it continues to stay on.
Love this show. Please do not cancel!
Hi Christine and others frankly I have been wondering that too and the only reason that I can come with for it here the stupid network brass are real cheap skates however the bad weather in Chicago maybe a factor as well
Love Chicago fire! Too bad NBC doesn’t put it on before the Voice, just might have a following.
Hey Candy great idea and as far as I’m concerned they could get rid of that stupid the Voice period!
THE SHOW IS AMAZING. IT HAS EVERYTHING!! GOOD ACTORS, ACTION & DRAMA. LOOK FORWARD TO NEW EPISODES!!!!
I will pay you to cancel this show. Please kill off all the characters as the fire house burns to the ground.
Cancel this god awful show. I would happily watch each poorly played character die in a fire and watch static from now until the end of time then to have to even see a preview of the show. No there are no words to express how lame this show is.
DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!! It’s a great show! Love the characters. .. love the plots. Love the fact that Chicago PD is connected to it. ..it’s a great show. ..I don’t know how the ratings work but I have to DVR it to watch it. So if anything it is still being seen even if it’s not on the very day it’s aired.
One of my favorite shows – hate those sit-coms. do not cancel
I love this show. I can’t wait until Tuesday nights so i can watch it.. Please don’t take it off the air if something needs to be taken off it should be some of these stupid sitcoms this is a good clean show that the family can enjoy
I would love to see the show keep going. Love the show and spin off Chicago PD…
I loves this show, can not wait until tuesdays come to watch it.please do another season.thank you.
Chicago Fire is a great show and I do not believe it should be taken off the air. There are too many ridiculously stupid sitcoms on TV right now. The fake audience laughter is annoying. Watching Chicago Fire saving lives is a lot more interesting. I can watch the comedy channel when the comedians are on to get some REAL laughs.
Well nemof so now that you mention it then we have Danny the Detective who looks more like a Bowery Bum then cop with that silly beard on Blue Bloods and as stated before then we Chicago Fire’s “Dawson” that only talent is flashing her boobs! So is this nonsense the future of TV in America today?
“real acting skills” has never been a requirement for TV
series low. if these ratings continue, the in series pilot for the new show may as well be called Chicago Dead,
Oh well at the rate a great program is rapidly becoming “As Chicago Burns And Fire Station 51 Romance Abounds!”….The Newest Sitcom on NBC TV!…..And “Drama Queen Dawson Keeps Flashing Her Boobs at the Firehouse Fire Fighters”…Stay Tuned for next weeks exciting episode as “Dawson” sheds her bra!
LOL
Hi,
I look forward to the men in blue on Tuesday and Wednesday nights I think the story lines are brilliant. I don’t know why people are so hard on Dawson, I think she is great. Is it because she is a minority? I sure hope not we need to move past that stuff and judge people for who they are. I love love Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, please don’t cancel. I look forward to them and I love to see the other actors from the other shows cross over, it makes it a united effort.
Oh come on Darlene face it the only talent that phony baloney “Dawson” has to act like a real drama queen and flash her boobs at everybody. They should have killed off Dawson instead of Shay!
people should be complaining about this whole lousy soap opera not just one stupid character
