After a season of mediocre ratings, NBC moved Chicago Fire to follow The Voice. As a result, the show was one of a few network series to go up in the ratings year-to-year. Will the numbers continue to climb? Will it be renewed for a fourth season or could it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Chicago Fire follows the lives and work of the firefighters, rescue squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minso, Yuri Sardarov, and Christian Stolte.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/5 update: NBC has renewed Chicago Fire for a fourth season. Details here.
Final season averages: 1.82 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.42 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Chicago Fire averaged a 2.0 rating in the demo and 7.46 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Leave program on its a hell of a lot better than game shows
I am another one who loves Chicago Fire. It took a little longer to develope a taste for Chicago P.D. one reason was Xfinity was going to charge me to watch seasons 1 & 2 but found it at a on demand streaming channel. C.F. is a well rounded show with good character development as well as relationships. There are few shows out there that a person can watch that is no full of sexual innuendos or focussing on gay relationships. Please do not pass this show up for another cookie cutter series.
We love the Chicago Fire, please have another season
C fire is the best of all the series and I’ve watched a lot. Please give us a lot more and do not get rid of the current cast. They’re awesome.
Love this show and also Chicago PD. Please don’t cancel either of them. We need good shows like this.
We love the show, nice to see a show with no violence. The cast
This is one of the most awesome series on TV. You learn so much! Much about building and maintaining relationships, making decisions, attacking crisis on the spur of the moment and making us all appreciate what they do. Please don’t cancel this show. Even my family can watch it. It is real!!!
Do not cancel- one of the best shows….. I might not be able to see it on Tuesdays but I can always wstch it later. Love it!
We love the show, please don’t cancel.
Stopped watching after Shay died. Show became cheesy. Storyline are corny.
I still watch Chicago Fire along with Chicago PD however I cannot stand that phony actress that plays “Dawson” and even hit mute button anytime she comes on frankly it’s too bad that they didn’t kill her off instead of Shay as far as I’m concerned.
DO NOT CANCEL!! ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OUT THERE!
let me guess, the season premiere of Chi Med will feature a story line about an evil mad scientist wanting to freeze the world. I mean really, if you are going to steal stories and lines directly from Grey’s why not gen. hospital as well
I look forward to the show every week!! I love the show and tell others about how awesome and entertaining the show is. I can’t imagine it not being on! It’s got to continue to be renewed!!
So,while I fully enjoy Chicago Fire and Chicago PD the network seriously needs to cancel that idiotic “The Voice” forthwith here and now!
please don’t cancel Chicago fire. my husband and I love this series.
is it over for the season
We love the show, but why am we see constant repeats for this last month of March. I don’t want to miss it, but do stay tuned for re runs.
