In its first season, Claim to Fame was a middle-of-the-road performer when compared to ABC’s other summer series. The network renewed the series, likely hoping that the numbers would improve in round two. Will that happen? Will Claim to Fame be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A competition reality series, the Claim to Fame TV show is co-hosted by siblings Kevin and Frankie Jonas. The show looks at people who are on the fringe of celebrity, just out of the spotlight. This series challenges 12 celebrity relatives to step outside their famous family member’s shadow and to live together under one roof. They conceal their identity and lineage in a quest for their own fame and fortune. Over the course of a season, the relatives compete in challenges, form alliances, and play DNA detectives in hopes of avoiding elimination. Their goal is to win the coveted $100,000 prize and to stake their own “Claim to Fame”. The network promises that season two will be double-the-fun with supersized competition and drama.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
8/29 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of Claim to Fame on ABC averaged a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.82 million viewers.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the Claim to Fame TV series on ABC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
*5/3/24 update: Claim to Fame has been renewed for a third season by ABC.
Renew for a 3rd season. We watched season 2 before season 1. Good thing we did. Season 2 was way better than 1. Which I guess they figured out because we don’t want to be told who some of the people are and the clues explained from the wine room. The fun of watching the show is being more like the rest of the contestants and trying to figure them out!
Hoping for season 3
