What’s This TV Show About?
On Too Close to Home, a small town woman moves to Washington DC to start a new life and join the political scene. Following a major scandal, she retreats to the community and family that she’d been hoping to leave behind. The regular TLC TV series cast includes Danielle Savre, Kelly Sullivan, Brock O’Hurn, Brad Benedict, and Brooke Anne Smith. Courtney Burrell, Azur-De, Nelson Estevez, Angela Rigsby, James Shanklin, KD Aubert, and Crystle Stewart recur. Heather Locklear returns as a guest star.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Too Close to Home averaged a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.08 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s up by 62% in the demo and up by 52% in viewers.
As of December 19, 2017, Too Close to Home has been cancelled by TLC.
Could they bring it back for a third season?

Telly’s Take
The first season of Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home TV show averaged a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 713,000 viewers and yet TLC ordered a second season. Since the current season two ratings averages are way up in both measures, it seems highly unlikely TLC will cancel this scripted drama series. Too Close to Home should be renewed for a third season on TLC. Of course, if the ratings plummet, I reserve the right to change my mind.
12/19 update: Despite a sizable increase in the ratings during season two, Too Close to Home has been cancelled by TLC, with no fanfare. Details here.

Too Close To Home is my favorite show!!!! If TLC cancels this show, I will be outraged. With all the ridiculous crap on television, ie. “Man with a Plan”, “Dish Nation”, “Hot Bench” I could go on and on. My point being, this a very well written show. The actors do a great job of portraying the characters. So Happy is as Happy does. Make us all happy. Renew this show for many many seasons to come. #RenewTCTH

I love this show! Please renew! Kelly Sullivan is a wonderful actress and was amazing on Gereral Hospital, that’s why I started watching. At least it is something to watch instead of some kind of silly reality show. I guess it is easier for “the powers that be” to let people just live their daily life on tv instead of actually doing the thinking and come up with something themselves for tv. I would much rather watch a story than watch a show like the “K’s”!
This show renewed my love from the past of night time dramas like the days of Dynasty, Dallas. It’s not like anything I have seen in a long time. I pray it stays on.

Have watched this show from the beginning. I must admit that some of the acting is bad, but overall the show is good. I can’t stop watching. Hope that there is a season 3. Love Tyler Perry
