TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
This smart medical drama has some of the finest actors and writers I’ve witnessed in this genre. It’s refreshing to watch such intimately relatable characters dealing with real life situations. Many of us watch Code Black because its such an extraordinary Drama. Please, Network Folks, may we have more??
Why do networks always cancel good shows like code black??!! I am sick of getting hooked on a show only to have it canceled!!
One of the best on tv
I love Code Black and do not understand how anyone would want to cancel a show that had such talented actors and wonderful stories.
I have been a huge fan of the show since it premiered, never missed an episode. Loved the cast, the storyline, all of it. So extremely disappointed that the show was cancelled, still can’t believe it. Please, please bring it back. There’s more to this show, I’m sure.
sad to see it cancelled they always cancel the meaningful ones
Very disappointing to see was canceled. CBS does remakes of old shows but takes off the good original shows. One of the few shows I never missed! CBS sucks!
Loved this show. So sad that quality TV like this is cancelled yet they continue with idiotic Reality shows which are not real at all. SO SAD!!
there are very few shows on broadcast tv that are worth watching. Sadly this was one of them. I really enjoyed it and am disheartened that it is gone.
why it is a great show
