TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
This is by far the best medical show on television.
You are crazy for not renewing Code Black that show was the best. Need more shows like Code Black
I loved this show; it was gritty and dramatic. I wish CBS would bring it back or Netflix would pick it up and film new episodes. I was really invested in the show.
Hope CBS reconsiders their decision to cancel Code Black. It was a great show and so much better than watching reruns all summer.
Code Black was my favorite medical show. Would never miss an episode! Wish CBS would bring this exciting show back to TV!
So sorry to see Code Black cancelled. Just can’t understand how ratings could have been low. Could it have been a time issue??? Try again!
I wish code black would be renewed. It’s so much better than the other hospital shows.
This is so sad to hear! I miss this show a lot! Looked forward to it coming on every week. Different then most hospital shows, edgy and exciting. Put it right up there with New Amsterdam which I believe is the new “ER”
Code Black was a great & edgy show – I do NOT think it should have been canceled – I keep hoping another network/streaming will pick it up & run with it because it was definitely a keeper!
Still missing my Code Black!!! Please consider bringing it back. Excellent acting, excellent producing, excellent and realistic storylines.!!!
Please bring Code Black back !!! It was a outstanding show and more to real than any other first responders show that’s was once in tv . Big mistake canceling the show .
Bring it back. The best summer show on TV
I loved the show. It was well written and well acted. Bring the show back.
very sad to not have this series renewed. Very real , down to earth, with a better insight as to real life er drama than a lot of the other series I’ve seen. WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT COME BACK
Finally a show with grit and not a bunch of children acting like they are singularly going to save the world. More realistic than the insipid medical shows that center on who is sleeping with whom as they give a whole new meaning to the term “rounds.” But I guess that’s what viewers want. Sad.
