Community’s loyal fans learned earlier this week that a season seven for the series on Yahoo Screen was highly unlikely, but the movie was still in the works.
Now, fans have received an update on the status of the film from Joel McHale. TV Line shared his comments about the film and confirmed that a seventh season is unlikely on Thursday.
McHale teased the following about the film.
“Yes, we’ve finally secured the $250 million we need for principal shooting, and we still need to find $100 million more. It’ll make Pirates of the Caribbean look like Sideways, that’s how big it is. [Dan Harmon] needs to write the script, but he’s one of the busiest people in Hollywood.”
McHale also said that he would be willing to do another season, but that was likely said before Yahoo’s conference call on Tuesday.

this is why we need a sarcasm font
350 Million? The hell? Why would they need all that money for a comedy? That’s more than either Avengers movie!!! A 350 million dollar budge would be the most expensive movie ever made. I’m so confused.
Sarcasm. All sarcasm.
Dude, look at the source; he’s a comedian…it’s a joke. When they get ready to make this, all of us loyal fans can do a go fund me or kick starter and raise the money in about a minute
