TV show description:
Based on the Belgian TV series Cordon, this dramatic series revolves around the breakout and aftermath of a deadly disease.
A mysterious and lethal epidemic breaks out in Atlanta so a wide reaching urban quarantine is quickly enforced. This forces those who are stuck on the inside to fight for their lives. Meanwhile, local and federal officials desperately search for a cure.
Trying to keep the peace on the streets is police officer Alex “Lex” Carnahan (David Gyasi), a man who has quickly risen through the ranks of the Atlanta Police Department. Lex’s job becomes even harder when he learns that his longtime girlfriend, Jana (Christina Moses), and his best friend, fellow officer Jake Riley (Chris Wood), are trapped within the cordoned area.
Also quarantined in viral ground zero is: 17 year-old Teresa (Hanna Mangan-Lawrence). She’s eight months pregnant and is now separated from her boyfriend on the other side.
Katie Frank (Kristen Gutoskie) is an elementary school teacher who’s now placed on lockdown with her entire class — including her young son.
Also inside is CDC researcher Dr. Victor Cannerts. He’s the doctor who initially made the controversial call to quarantine the area and is now racing to find a cure for the virus.
On the outside, Dr. Sabine Lommers (Claudia Black) is leading the government efforts to contain the outbreak, and has asked for Lex’s help in enforcing the cordon – which grows increasingly difficult as the public trust deteriorates.
And the public has reason to be wary, as journalist Leo (Trevor St. John) begins unraveling a conspiracy. He finds that something doesn’t add up in the official story being told.
Torn apart from their loved ones, the survivors trapped within the cordon are fighting against not only fatal infection, but also isolation, fear, and the disintegration of society around them. As they begin to gain each other’s trust, hope remains — on both sides of the cordon — and unlikely heroes begin to rise.
Episode #13 — Path to Paradise
With only one shot to take Dr. Lommers down for good, Lex carefully plans his next steps. Jana, Suzy, Teresa, and Xander make their dangerous escape out of the cordon, but unexpected road blocks threaten to destroy their chance of making it home. Inside the cordon, Dr. Cannerts and Jake make a breakthrough discovery following a risky experimental treatment. Finally, with time running out, Lex is forced to make a decision that will change his life forever.
First aired: July 19, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Containment TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
What tools these networks are! This was a GOOD show that could have become an intense and great show if they had allowed it another season. These tv execs are so ‘smart’ they would have cancelled Star Trek in its first season. Idiots!
This show is so good. The characters mesh really well together and the story line is quality. Why do shows like The Strain continue on forever but good shows get cancelled. It sucks, containment is so good. Bring it back.
Haven’t finished the 13 shows yet – I certainly hope they end it without not knowing what happened. YES I want to Season 2!!!!
Loved it! Want season 2 now!!!
Came across this recently and loved it. Disappointed it got cancelled was looking forward to season 2!
Was scanning for something to watch when I came upon this show.Became hooked on this show.Always looking forward to the next episode to see what happens. It was so many emotional as well as touching scenes.I will be honest and cried.Would love to see more.Where this goes.Who will survive? Will they find a cure? So many questions and possibilities.
I loved this show ! The acting was terrific. Not only from the adults yet the children. It did not seem low budget at all. The plot was always turning just enough to make you wonder and keep you curious at the same time. Just as we were getting heroes and villians we would find a love story. I cried for 2 days over one of the deaths. It was so well written I fell in love myself and became heartbroken at the same time. Rooting for everyone to survive yet hoping the rest could keep the human race safe.… Read more »
I love this show , I wish they hadn’t cancelled it
My husband and two of my teenage children are so sad to see this show end. We all loved it! It is a rare find for everyone to actually agree on a show and we are so disappointed that it ended without a strong ending. Very intense and unexpected show that I really wish would return.
Am really disappointed they have cancelled this show! I was looking foward to seeing how it all was gonna end!
I like containment and yes I think it should be renewed for a second season. It should go on until the virus is under control and it should end properly.
I enjoyed the show. It started off a bit slow but after the third episode it was great.
Cancelling this show really disappoints me. I RARELY make it a point to catch a show as it airs live, but this one I couldn’t wait to watch every Tuesday. Back to Netflix and Amazon Fire TV.
I am so mad that my favorite shows are being cancelled leaving me hanging with no proper ending! Please bring back Containment for a second season! I love this show and so does my family and friends! You keep renewing very bad reality shows that we all hate and do not watch! But you get really good shows on and you cancel them! Why? You just can’t leave us hanging! I have many friends who refuse to watch TV series because they do not want to invest in a show that will be cancelled, leaving them hanging in mid air!… Read more »
Omgosh, I hate that the series is over! Loved watching it; wish the ending was different.
