The fat lady is finally warming up for the fine folks at the BAU. CBS has announced it has renewed the long-running Criminal Minds TV show for a 15th and final season. As of now the plan is for the final season to consist of just 10 episodes, which will cap the series off with an impressive total of 325. Variety reports they will shoot, “back to back” with the 14th season, which is currently in production.
A CBS law enforcement procedural, Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, Daniel Henney, and Aisha Tyler. The crime drama follows the FBI’s elite Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) out of Quantico, Virginia. The BAU remains dedicated to understanding predators’ motive and triggers, in order to stop them before they strike again.

The 14th season of Criminal Minds is averaging a 0.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.68 million viewers. Compared to season 13, that’s down by 24% and 18%, respectively. Find out how Criminal Minds stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

The show has also not been without controversy during its run. Most recently, Variety exclusively reported that the show’s long-time director of photography, Greg St. Johns, had faced multiple accusations of abusive behavior and sexual harassment towards crew members. St. Johns has since left the production. Prior to that, series star Thomas Gibson was fired from the show after an on-set altercation with a producer.

Yes I agree with Andy. I also have been watching CM since the beginning. I miss Gideon(who I know can’t come back as a guest star) but Thomas Gibson AND Shemar Moore can come back to guest star…hopefully.
I’ve been watching CM since the beginning. Great show; Big setback with losses of Mandy Patinkin AND Thomas Gibson. My favorite now are Spencer Ried , Jennifer Jareau, and Penelope Garcia. Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) was an exceptional actor.
Bring them back for guest spots; see where it leads the show IMO
Return Thomas Gibson to his role as leader of the unit and you will keep this viewer.
When you keep releasing the main characters and super stars from the show you will definitely lose ratings. I know money is always an issue, but don’t let all of the super stars disappear on a regular basis. This has been my favorite tv show since it began. I’ll be sad to see it go and will miss it very much. It delves into what makes people commit horrible crimes without making the criminals look like heroes or superstars. Very interesting plots. I think that it is better to leave on a high note than to be cancelled. This is what Criminal Minds is doing. I have been watching CM since the beginning of Season 1 and have loved every show. Yes, some were better than others but they still were all enjoyable. I will definitely miss Criminal Minds but I also know what their logic is.
I love Criminal Minds and hope that it has another season or two. The stories and acting are great.
I would totally keep watching it if they continued.
I AGREE. I watch it almost every day on syndicated channels like We ; ION; and Sundance as well as every week on CBS
I have enjoyed this show every week over the years. I do not enjoy episodes that are especially graphic and horrific. It seemed like for awhile the episodes were not typically gruesome but then changed back . I love all the characters and do miss Thomas Gibson. Emily has changed a lot since taking on her new role which I guess is to be expected. She doesn’t really smile which reminds me of Hotch. I, and my family, absolutely love this show! I DVR it and, sometimes, watch more than once before deleteling it. I so Hope and wish that they would change their decision to cancel it. Some of the best actors on TV. I will miss, so very much, all of them, but espicially Reed!
One of the best drama’s on TV, right up there with NCIS, NCIS L.A. and NCIS New Orleans. Thomas Gibson was the real star but alas he was fired. Padget Brewster does an outstanding job filling is shoes. JJ and Spencer’s new relationship will undoubtedly be mixed in during the short Season 15 and will be interesting to see how it plays out. CBS needs to re-think the cancellation and I mean they really need to RE-THINK what they’re doing. CRIMINAL MINDS continues to be the best dramatic series on television. They have added “personal relationships” throughout the years without losing their primary focus. Few shows have done that.
I love Criminal Minds! My husband and I have watched from the beginning. I truly hope that season 15 won’t be the end.
Finally! The JJ/Spence update this week was a long time coming, but now needs to be played out in a graceful ongoing story line. Bravo!!!
