TV show description:
This political thriller series follows what happens when an unlikely person becomes the leader of the free world.
Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) is a lower-level Cabinet member, the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. He’s the “designated survivor” to the current administration, an individual in the presidential line of succession who is at a distant and secure location when the President and the country’s other top leaders are gathered at a single location.
On the night of the State of the Union address, an unprecedented attack claims the lives of the President and all other members of the Cabinet. Kirkman is immediately sworn in as President, unaware that the attack is just the beginning of what is to come.
He struggles to keep the country and his own family from falling apart — while navigating the highly-volatile political arena and leading the search to find who is responsible for the attack.
Seth Wright (Kal Penn) is Kirkman’s speechwriter and he has strong doubts about his boss’ abilities to lead the nation. FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) investigates the attack and believes that there’s more to come from the perpetrators. She clashes with FBI Deputy Director Jason Atwood (Malik Yoba).
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Aaron Shore (Adan Canto) advises the new President following the attack.
A career military man, Admiral Chernow (Mykelti Williamson) is the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who becomes one of the new President’s most trusted advisors. Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci) is Kirkman’s former Chief of Staff and a close friend of his family.
Kirkman’s wife is EEOC attorney Alex Kirkman (Natascha McElhone) and their children are teenager Leo (Tanner Buchanan) and young daughter Penny (Mckenna Grace). Mike Ritter (LaMonica Garrett) is Kirkman’s Secret Service agent who’s charged with protecting the family following the attack.
Episode #53 — #truthorconsequences
On election day, Kirkman turns to his therapist to assuage his conscience about the events — and his own decisions — of the momentous prior 36 hours.
First aired: June 7, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Designated Survivor TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Have enjoyed this show. Please don’t cancel it.
I really like this show & want it to continue.
I love this show as well as Keifer Sutherland and the great cast. I met Reed DIamond who plays the FBI agent when he came into our store. I knew who he was but did not say anything. I hope this show lasts for a while as it is a great show with a great cast.
Enjoy this show – haven’t missed an episode since it first aired!!!
Love this show! I don’t watch much TV – this is literally the only thing I care to watch.
I love this show and can’t wait for the next series
Please don’t cancel

Love this show.
I think Designated Survivor has a lot to offer tv viewers. DS has a well written show every week it was offered. The fact that Kiefer Sutherland as President handles tense situations so well thought ( sometimes spur of the moment ) out and calm is a learning tool we as adults can learn from ourselves. DS also handles life situations we can all related to. It would be a sad mistake if this program does not continue. Pay the writers and all involved a little more to ensure all goes well.
RENEW THE SHOW—DIFFERENT FOR A CHANGE AND KS -GOOD ACTOR—ONE MORE SEASON AT LEAST
Please don’t cancel it… It is one of my favorite shows. I never miss it. I love all the actors/actresses.
I’m done with this show. Loved it last year, but it has jumped the shark and turned into a liberal fantasy where the President behaves like a gentle pastor instead of the leader of the free world. Oh if only it was so easy! He is the anti Trump, what we need is someone in the middle which would be so more realistic. Plus the situations are really rediculous, just plain boring now.
Please leave this show on…..it is intelligent and ground breaking. Can’t wait for each Wednesday to see what happens next. The season finale was a tear jerker. Love Keifer Sutherland. He is fantastic. So few really excellent tv shows on……..do not let us lose this one.
You’ve got to keep Designated Survivor going. I’m hooked, and so is everyone I know. Please don’t cancel.
This show is hard to believe, far reaching, hot garbage. Love you Keif, but you couldn’t really be proud of the **** this show has become. Season one really dropped off at the end and was really drawn out. Open minded and gave a second chance in the second season. Couldn’t even get through the second season premier listening to some jackass who I wanted to punch in the throat complain about bottled water. Ugh. Flush this crap already.
