What’s next for Doctor Foster? This week, star Suranne Jones told Radio Times she thinks the second season is brilliant.

The British drama stars Jones as a doctor who suspects her husband (Bertie Carvel) of cheating on her. The first season premiered earlier this month on Lifetime as Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned. 

Speaking to Radio Times, Jones says she’s read the first episode of season two:

I’ve read episode one and I thought it was brilliant. My first reaction was, ‘Oh my god!’ I thought, ‘How could you take Doctor Foster and then kind of reinvent it as a new exciting show?’ and [Mike Bartlett, the show’s writer] has done that. Now I’m expecting episodes two, three, four and five.”

Her co-star, Carvel, added:

It’s nice to know that because of its success and because of Mike’s integrity it’s not about regurgitating something. He’ll write the next chapter of that story. We are all really thrilled to see what happens next.”

The BBC premiere date for season two of Doctor Foster has not been announced yet.
