Grimm has done very well for NBC on Friday nights and is one of their highest-rated dramas. How has Dracula been performing? Is it safe or likely to be cancelled?
Based on the classic Bram Stoker story, Dracula takes place in London. The title character (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) poses as an American entrepreneur while he seeks revenge on those who cursed him. He doesn’t count on falling in love with a woman (Jessica De Gouw) who looks like his deceased wife. Others in the cast include Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Smurfit, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.
The series debuted on October 25th to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.26 million viewers. This was a very respectable performance for a Friday airing.
Unfortunately, the ratings took a big dive in week two and then again in week three, falling to a 0.9 rating with 2.96 million.

After seven episodes, Dracula is now averaging a 1.1 in the demo and 3.46 million viewers. Unless the next few episodes see a good-size gain, the averages will keep dropping.
With ratings like these, it would seem unlikely that NBC would want to order a second season. However, the network has partnered with Sky Living on the series, decreasing their costs. Dracula started airing in the UK on Sky Living last Halloween.
It’s also worth noting that NBC renewed Hannibal last spring and that show drew even worse numbers on Thursdays.
So, essentially, Dracula’s fate could go either way. We’ll have to wait and see whether it will be cancelled or renewed for a second season.
But, what do you think? Do you like Dracula? Do you think it should be renewed or cancelled?
PLEASE DONT CANCEL THIS SHOW. CANCEL COGUR TOWN, OR BIG BROTHER, OR WIFE SWAP……NOT THIS SHOW.
Dracula was awesome and it should be renewed.
Love this … Late bloomer to find this series, but I was hooked instantly and can’t get enough of it! I personally think second time round people will notice it an I will sure to be tell friends to join in on the Dracula hype. Best series in a long while … Please bring out the second season x pretty please x
Keep it on

This is amazing you need to keep shows like this.
People like me want to know what happens next…
LOVED Dracula~ KEEP IT ON!
Please please do not cancel this show. It is so unusual and interestingly written. We need something like this.
Yes, most definitely, it is a great vampire show, the setting in England along with the period costumes are well done. All my friends look forward to it on Friday nights, we even stay home or change our plans to fit Dracula’s schedule. The cast is excellent, they compliment each other beautifully, it’s so intriguing and exciting, if some people have problems with the blood scenes, Game of Thrones and True Blood are a whole lot more gory than Dracula. We’re keeping our fingers crossed, NBC, please, please renew, you’ll be losing a great show, if it wants to move… Read more »
Don’t cancel! Good heavens, we finally have a viable piece of literature represented on screen without the fuss and drama of making it some YA/teen junk. The acting is superb as well as the sumptuous sets and costuming. To my mind, the production quality is on the same standard as Downton and no one would dare cancel that.
LOVE THIS SHOW……I’m really surprised that the ratings are down….everyone I speak to is very anxious to have the next season start! If Hannibal can stay on the air….then Dracula needs to stay as well….it’s a great show….maybe advertise it more….which really was not done last season……bring Dracula back!
Please leave it on !!!!! I love it
A visually stunning production, but one that failed to hold my attention. Story development was slow and laborious in places, and character development lacking. I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Rhys Meyers’ (a fine actor) “American” intonation reminds me too much of Scott Bairstow, which for a role like this, is a decided turn-off. He even looks a bit like him on this particular show. In any case, I was initially excited when I heard that NBC was bringing Dracula to major network TV, and while it is encouraging to see that they are attempting to compete… Read more »
most excellent show and should be given a second season…the ratings will improve especially if the writers show more power from DRACULA..give better special effects…spend some damn money…this show will explode…look at The CW…ORIGINALS are awesome because KLAUS is what DRACULA should be…and then you have DAMEN on the VAMPIRE DIARIES…get a clue….show how awesome DRACULA can be through better special effects….
My wife and I enjoyed Dracula a great deal and have no interest in Hannable!!!
Such a great show. I’m very surprised and disappointed it may not be renewed. NBC has something good here, worthy of a better time slot and a chance to finish what it started. I was hooked after the 1st show. Not a lot of people know about it though. Do your job NBC. Please bring it back. You left us all hanging.
