It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I agree with everyone who has already commented. I think the public misunderstood the show. I don’t think it was intended to be taken seriously as a serious drama. It kind of corny and hokey, but dealt with a few serious issues in a non threatening way. People probably thought it was stupid because they didn’t get it. I loved it and looked forward to it each week

This is a fantastic show.. Once again ABC sucks you in and then they drop you!!! Hopefully a better network will buy the rights and continue the series!!! Boo on you ABC!!!
I really enjoyed this show…too bad it is getting cancelled. I hope that this show remains on tv…please oh please ABC change your mind. I am a fan!

The. Best. Show. Ever. ! Don’t get rid of it ABC!!! Move it up a time slot or whatever, but don’t get rid of it. Drama, humor, witches, wit, and romance, all tied together in one package. To me, that’s what makes a great show. So, I ask you, ABC, why are you getting rid of such a great show? I wait all week for Eastwick to come on!! Just think about it, you will be putting thousands of frowns on peoples faces….
I think that Eastwick is a great show. I think the reason it is being cancelled is because the tv craze is focused on reality tv anymore. But ultimately, reality tv isn’t real! I LOVE shows like Eastwisk. I love the girls, and I think they have great chemistry. I was so upset whenever I found out about the rookie show being canceled! 🙁
I love Eastwick! I just don’t get it. For ages there’s been nothing new, and nothing really interesting. The current reality tv madness leaves me cold – I watch tv to escape. I get enough reality at home. I see that the ratings fell – but did the figure out why and try to address those issues, or did they just give up. Grrrrr.
one of the best shows, wait the whole week just to watch it on Wednesdays. ABC shouldn’t cancel this show. Who would give the show a rating of 1.5? like Leslie said, “it only gets better with each episode. what else would some one want rather than 3 beautiful witches? This is a really good show. I hate to see if go, also. It is good entertainment and only gets better with each episode. I’m sick of doctor and lawyer shows. I wish the network would reconsider their decision.
I’m with you! EVERY single show on tv is either about a doctor or lawyer drama. Every show that isn’t a reality tv show of course. Hey who knows though because last season, Gary Unmarried was being considered for cancelation, and that novice show came back for a second round.
Once again, ABC has canceled a show that is unique. It has drama, sexual tension, quirky moments and comedy. They did the same thing to Men In Trees. I eagerly anticipated watching these shows, they were a bright spot in my week. Most of the shows that do actually make it to TV are geared more to the violence-loving audience, it’s crap that the writers are putting out now and isn’t worth watching. Man! I hate that this show has been canceled. I should have known. ABC has a habit of canceling really good shows. Darn it! Both Glenn and I love it and love the cast. They are perfect together. Maybe NBC or CBS will rescue it and promote it properly.
I guess we can all expect more quality “reality TV” programing from ABC to take over this time slot. Sigh, how many more dance and dating shows can any of us stomach?
I can’t believe they are going to cancel this show!! My husband and I love to watch it. It’s different from the cop and crime shows and very fun to watch. It’s the first new show that I like in a long time.
