It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

As a Christian who is born again I can only rejoice that these programs are removed as fast as they pop up.

I feel any intelligent witty show involving women is doomed because of the executives. Most shows need a second season to catch. It’s sad it’s all about the now and not about building a following anymore. By taking the two weeks off people get busy and forget, then you can’t catch up on episodes you missed. I thought Nielson was going to start looking at viewers on line also.
Please don’t cancel it give it a chance and you will see it has a following that will grow.
I cannot believe that this show is getting canceled. It was so much fun and so good. Isn’t there anyway to stop this from happening. I mean this show has so much potential. I’m so tired of tv networks canceling shows. Or delaying shows for weeks on end. YOu guys think you are so cleaver and have all of us wrapped around your little fingers. well you know what i’m going to find something else to do like take a hike or something.

Actually if y’all go to mylifetime.com and check there polls it seems lifetime is considering picking up Eastwick . I for one would be very grateful it is a really good show. I am tired to death of reality t.v. and feel a little fantasy is fun . I love this show !!!!!!!!! I don’t watch anything on ABC anymore they have done this to me one to many times.

Has anyone noticed what else is on at this 10 p.m. time slot? Nothing! Jay Leno? Perhaps if ABC had promoted this really interesting show it would be continued. After-all, Charmed didn’t get much attention until its second season. How about giving a program a chance! Look how long Charmed ran and there are more that really flourished after their second seasons. I understand the Xian community has filed complaints and that is why it was taken off. ABC, how can you cancel such a fun, entertaining show geared toward women like Eastwick and pick up a stupid show like Scrubs??? Every single time I love a new show you have, October Road, Men in Trees, Womens Murder Club, Cashmere Mafia, Life on Mars, The Unusuals and the one with the 3 guys that were best friends and rich YOU CANCEL IT!!!!!!!!. It is too bad that ABC finally has a fun and interesting program and then they take it off and put something stupid like a bunch of has beens dancing.
Well we won’t be watching ABC programs any longer because they no longer have anything of interest.
I hope they do play all the rest of the episodes. That is the one thing ABC could do for us.

That was my new favorite show on TV!!! This show was so novel and looked forward to Wednesday nights. Please reconsider EASTWICK! What a teriffic cast! Real shame.
