It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

It’s too bad that Eastwick got cancelled. This was one show that I LOVED!!!!!! What get’s me is that a great show like this gets taken off the air and then a show like Glee get’s nominated for four Golden Globes. Come on people. I wish they would at least carry out the rest of the season or that another network (one that can be watched in Canada) would pick it up. I cant believe they cancelled the show the plot and everything is nice, i loved it. Alot of students watch this shows(uni) well we are all disapointed…. i was really looking forward to seeing more.
I will truly miss Eastwick. It has become one of my favorites, possibly in part because of its quirkiness. It’s just like ABC to pull what isn’t “mainstream”…think Pushing Daisies! I sure do wish they would give this gem a little more time to find its audience. Hopefully Lifetime will offer it a home. It deserves a chance!
It it just like ABC to cancel a good show… We all know that this is not the first time ABC has done this….Remember Women’s Murder Club?? ABC cut that one too. I loved that show just like I love Eastwick. ABC will cut anything that is not police related or some kind of reality show. If they do keep a show it is a stupid one like Ugly Betty . This is why I don’t watch ABC often and if they take Eastwick off, I may never watch ABC again…..
I am so sorry to hear that Eastwick is being bumped off. I always watched it and wondered what happened. I think it is much better than Cougar Town that was running before it.
I hope some station brings it back. I’ll be watching for it.

It really is a disappointment that this show is being cancelled. The show has been really entertaining. I hope another network will take it and I will definately change networks and watch it.
I contacted Lifetime and they have no intention of picking up Eastwick, it’s a shame to see such a good show fail. ABC should have done a better job with advertising. It was advertised really well in Canada.

I LOVE Eastwick and would love to see Lifetime pick it up. I hope ABC at least will finish the story and not leave us hanging if Lifetime doesn’t.

I feel it’s an awesome show, it would figure that the ratings were low due to being on at a later hour during the week and also being pushed back so much! It’s no wonder people don’t know about such a great show, when it hasn’t been given a proper time frame and chance! It’s just over all a bad marketing ploy on ABC’s part. Plus, this is the ONLY show on ABC that our household even watches, so ABC, you just lost one more!
well isnt liftime owned by abc/disney…they air commercials for abc all the time
