It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I love Eastwick! The only reason why I can’t watch it Wednesday’s nights is that it’s too late for me. This is why I always download it and watch it at a time which suits me better. I think Eastwick is funny and sexy, kind like Charmed was used to be. It upsets me a lot to hear it will be canceled. I guess they put another sience fiction show or vampire show up – as if there were not already enough.
Once again the network pulls a perfectly good show & will substitute it with crap (like another reality show). It’s a shame. I hardly watch ABC as it is because they can’t seem to keep the good shows on & give them a chance. You had a chance & blew it. This one could have given all those viewer who watched over 5 seasons of Charmed on TBS something to watch on ABC. Frankly you could use the help.
I am truly upset that Eastwick is ending!! ABC should have promoted the show better. It is the networks fault that the show is failing!!! If they invested as much commercial time into this show as they do Ugly Betty then maybe the rest of America would know it exists. I am outraged and on the verge of boycotting this station all together!!!!
My whole family and I watch Eastwick every Wed night. It’s a relatively wholesome show with a storyline that can go in a million different directions. The ABC Execs are morons! Maybe they’ll put another reality TV show on because Lord only knows we need a billion more of those!
PLEASE don’t cancel Eastwick!!!! It is a great show and so fun to watch…. Sometimes I think people don’t like good comedy and drama mixed. Oh well…. 🙁

I think its bull**** that they are cancelling this. ABC really needs to talk to the general public more about what they like etc. They cancelled Lipstick Jungle which was fantastic and got great reviews, and now this also. This show is great and really could have gone a little further. Mind you I did wonder how far they could take the story line on this since it was a movie, etc. and you take a risk making a show like this, but now its finally getting better and better and they are not going to bring it back. They have kept LOST on forever and I think it is the most stupid show in the world and one of the most expensive. Do we really need another program about a pilot who wants to chose a wife from the 18 contestants. It was announced it was coming on next week at 10 p.m. Wed. That is Eastwicks time so I guess it is over. ABC wants to play to the lowest common denominator and provide the cheapest program possible. I hate ABC for pulling the show. People should send complaints, this is what I sent today: Last night 12/16 a new episode of Eastwick was supposed to air at 10pm. I was extremely upset with WPLG to decide to air some retarded boat traveling program! The entire east coast was watching Eastwick promptly at 10 pm while south Florida got screwed over. I’m sorry but I have to give my honest opinion & honestly I think this blows! I loved Eastwick & watched every episode,who care if ratings were low it was an awesome show & a change from other show that are on right now.I think they should give it another shot.
Well what makes me more angry then ever about this great show getting canceled. When I was watching it last night it lookes like they are giving the time slot to Ugly Betty. (One of the worst shows on TV besides reality TV) I think they should try having it on during the time slot that Ugly Betty is on now. I watch alot of tv and this show was one of the ones I always looked forward to on my dvr….I’m so irritated with abc!
This is a fun show. I love watching it and its really a shame that ABC is cancelling the show. The thing that didn’t help either was that ABC never promoted the show at all. I saw it the first night and then forgot about it cause I never saw any previews for the show so really its ABC’s fault that the show didnt have so many ratings. But anyways I would love for this show to keep going and Lifetime should really pick the show up. Someone do something quick time is running out.
Just have to add…par for the course for ABC, I mean, “LIFE ON MARS”, more recently what they tried to do to ADAM LAMBERT… all I can say to them this Joliday Season, is “STICK IT”.
