It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

It’s not fair. Many, including myself, DVR shows. And honestly, I just spent my holiday catching up watching all Eastwick shows in a row. I am now totally heartbroken to find that it was canceled. I thought it was an excellent show. I couldn’t wait to see the next episode and was thankful that I had them to watch and didn’t have to wait for a week. I have to say that I’m tired of getting invested in a show only to have it ripped out. For example…Moonlight, Three Rivers, Women’s Murder Club, The X-List, etc., etc.
maybe it keeps dropping in ratings since its on and off every other week…plus with the cancelation maybe people were getting confused and didnt know it was still being played…i thought it was canceled until i turned it on tonight and seen a new episode… dont know how many ive missed…but maybe if abc got thier s**t together people would plan to watch a reliable show that will be on when they go to watch it…and have the right episode actually playing….if people watch that stupid ugly betty im dam sure people would start to watch eastwick if it was… Read more »
This show is a refreshing break. It didn’t work because it is the Holidays! Give it another chance.
We hate reality TV and that seems to be all there is to choose from. Keep Eastwick!

We as a couple watch very few shows religiously other than Smallville (but thats a whole different network), Eastwick and Desperate Housewives. We are absolutely devastated to see Eastwick being cancelled. We think that’s a poor decision on ABC’s part! I dont see my husband get fired up over any show other than Smallville but Eastwick really got his attention! We haven’t missed an episode of Eastwick until ABC messed around with holiday shows or something and the last episode we saw left us hanging with the three witches’ peril. I love this show and hate to see it go. It’s the only show that my daughter will sit down and watch with me. We haven’t missed one episode and we talked. I will miss that a lot. I wish it wouldn’t be canceled.

I really hate that they would just end the show like this. For once a show comes along that I really love and boom, they do this.
I have realized that Eastwick is a show that needs to be watched from the beginning. If not, then I can understand why it slowly wen’t down hill. If you started watching this later in the episodes you would be completely lost as to what is going on.
First – I like this show; it’s fun and entertaining enough to keep me interested. However I can see why it didn’t make it. It’s too chickflick for the scifi/supernatural fans and too weird for the mainstream dramedy lovers. It’s fatal flaw is that it’s too much like Desperate Housewives with a gimmick, but without the solid scripts and tight plotlines. The three women are often too ditzy; the plotlines not coherent enough. I can’t believe they’re cancelling “Eastwick”. It’s the only show I watch on tv. The stories are engrossing and the acting much better than any other shows. I don’t care for “Ugly Betty”, so guess I won’t be watching tv till they bring “Eastwick” back. ABC is stupid for letting that show go. I hope another network picks it up. It’s too good to throw away.

i am very upset that they are cancelling eastwick i have become very attached to the actors, and what will happen next. I think in time the ratings would raise, with so many new shows airing, people were just trying each to see which was better
i think its a brilliant show, the way its shot and the acting is better than most other shows. maybe if they aired it at n earlier time, more people wil watch it. ill be gutted if it gets shut down
i hope that all 13 episodes air, i really loved the show I thought it was a great tv adaptation of the movie from the late ’80’s i’m going to miss the show 🙁
My husband and I are so upset that the show is being cancelled. We have really enjoyed it and looked forward to it on wed nights. The acting is great its fun,smart,witty and completely different from the rest of the junk that’s on tv. Shame on ABC
