It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I love this show i watch it with my 23 year old daughter we love
it.we dont want it end.
Networks need to give new series at least one full season to develop characters and storylines. Eastwick seems to have a few “iffy” spots but also seems to have the ability to develop the women’s characters’ storyline both individually and together, given the chance.
I can’t believe yet another great show is cancelled. I almost don’t like to even start a new show due to the fact that when you get hooked they will pull it. Come on someone put this great show in their line up…..
I loved this show and am sad to see it go. I don’t know how these ratings work but I recorded mine and watched it whenever I got a chance. I completely agree with the other comments about reality shows. They suck and they’re not really reality. I’m sick of seeing their ridiculous drama on tv…who cares? I miss shows like these! I hope another channel picks it up.
I really hope that another station picks up this show! I love it…I’ll follow it whereever it goes!

Too bad that they’ve cancelled yet again a normal show. Reality sucks and I’ll be glad when it finally fades or gets its own channel. I’m sick of seeing that crap. Eastwick was fairly decent even with Paul Gross (not a fan). Is it because they are strong women characters that the show failed? I don’t know. Women’s murder club had 4 strong female characters and it failed. Why did it need to be on at 10? Desperate Housewives have strong male characters also so I think that’s why its lasted. Wow, This show is GREAT. Wanna know why a LOT of good shows are being cancelled? REALITY SHOWS- a trend that needs to die.
My husband and I both loved this show. There are a few shows out there that we “both” enjoy together. The rating system stinks, This show could have been a winner given a chance. I guess I can’t get involved in any new series until it hits a second season.
Anyone have any pull with a cable network? This show would be a fantastic TBS or SciFi or FX pickup. Ooh, or even Lifetime.

I have e-mailed the CW and told them what a great show it is and that it goes great with the Vampires Diaries and Supernatural.

How quickly you [suits] forget…Seinfeld would have been cancelled early on…Hugh success…need I say more…I’m not saying that Eastwick is a Seinfeld, but certainly better than the crap out there…enough with the reality…we need MAGIC….
I thought it was a pretty good show and looked forward to seeing it each week.
I thought it was well written, casted well and it kept my attention.

ABC bite me! you suck ! Eastwick was AMAZING! It had great acting and great interesting story lines that would of grown…..WTF come on . You never gave the show a chance and you never gave it any PR! I should of known better to watch another new show on ABC after the network Heads whom ever thay are canned Men in Trees. You keep CRAP on like In the Middle or Mordern Family REALLY???? I agree I love this show, its the first show in a long time to actually be about powerful woman instead of men. I cant believe they are going to pull it..

Im so sad to see this remarkable show go, it had become one of my favorite shows. ABC you just need to stop putting out tv shows because whats the point of anyone watching if all you are going to do is yank it off the air before it even has time to flourish. Unless Eastwick is brought back on I think Im just gonna stop watching ABC all together, whats the point?
