It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I can’t believe they cancelled this show. What the use in even watching new show from the beginning, they never last on ABC. VERY disappointed!!!!!!!
I don’t believe the show failed-I believe ABC failed the show (and their audience base). I DVR the show and watch it the next night. Does that effect the rating when people record and tivo it? ABC is like the democratic party. They do what they want and pay no attention to what the people want. Ugly Betty and Cougar Town are such pathetic (being nice here) shows that they should be pulled. Big mistake on the part of the network. Great show- loved it as a matter of fact- stopped watching Ugly Betty years ago when the writing went south. Maybe the execs at ABC should look at how many still watch reruns of shows like Buffy, Angel and Charmed- the writing and acting on Eastwick has been charmingly entertaining——boo for Betty. I will be watching another station now.

I agree with TammyA, I’m through with ABC.. If I wanted to watch teen cornball shows like “Ugly Betty” I’d go to the Disney Channel or Nick.. I don’t think “Eastwick” was given much of a chance, also I didn’t see any build up for “Eastwick” from ABC.. CBS at least sticks with the shows they choose and gives them a lot of promotion..
Just when the show was finally starting to kick in, this happens, it is tragic, because this show gets better as it goes… I had to stick with it even though the premier turned me off, it was so cookie-cutter, and seemed shallow, but I really wanted to give it a chance since the storyline was intriguing, and lo, after a few episodes, the characters really started developing, and the story became more complex and engaging. Yeah i loved this show and havent missed an episode of it i just learned they were being cancelled.. are they kidding???? serously. They need to advertise the show more, i just happend to come across it i didnt even know anything about it. Maybe if they would do their jobs the show would get more people to watch.. people need to know about it in order to watch.. and are you kidding me Ugly Betty? ugg. i will never watch that stupid show.
WHHHHYYYYYY???? Eastwick is an AMAZING show with a killer cast. PLUS…why in the heck did ABC skip a show? They obviously didn’t tape the second to last show. I too, am disappointed EASTWICK has been canceled. I thought it the best new series on alphabet TV. I fail to see why anyone is excited about Cougar Town or The Middle!!!!!!
Had ABC promoted EASTWICK as hard as they are pushing Ugly Betty (another program I don’t enjoy) EASTWICK might have been a winner!
FORGET ABC, instead I’ll watch HISTORY CHANNEL, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, DISCOVERY etc. plus I’ll have more fun watching old TV programs from NETFLIX!!!!!

What is up with ABC??? I CAN NOT believe that a show as UGLY BETTY is still on the air but moreover, replacing Eastwick’s timeslot. ABC took “What About Brian” off, which was one of the best primetime show’s in a long time, and now “Eastwick”??? I really feel like boycotting ABC all together – they seem to do this waaaaay too often. It stinks when you really love a show and then they decide to take it off….they never asked me what I am watching at 10:00!!! Paul G. is absolutely AWESOME!!!
I recorded last weeks episode and just finished watching it and waited to see previews for this week. No previews…searched to see that ugly betty is replacing it. ALL of my shows get cancelled. What is so wrong with shows that aren’t “real” life? This kind of show helps me de-stress and “leave my troubles behind!!!” I’m so upset about this. I so hope it gets picked up by another network. ABC is becoming a joke for new shows. May as well not watch them because they won’t last.
This is my last ABC show! The network has a track record of giving up on shows prematurely and I refuse to get involved again. See ya!

Love this show…………ABC dropped the ball. I’m seriously thinking of never watching an ABC show again. This is the second time they’ve done this to a show that I really liked.
