Although it’s still dwarfed by the parent series, and its ratings dropped significantly in the second season, fans shouldn’t worry that the Fear the Walking Dead TV show will be cancelled too soon. AMC renewed The Walking Dead prequel series through season four, back in April of 2017. What’s not clear is whether that renewal was for a fourth and final season. It’s likely that both creative and business considerations will influence that decision. Notably, despite its drop-off, Fear the Walking Dead is still AMC’s second highest rated series. Will it end next season, or continue for years to come? Stay tuned.
An AMC horror drama, Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, and Colman Domingo. Buffy veteran Emma Caulfield is also joining the new installment. The story unfolds in Los Angeles and Mexico and centers on a blended family. This dysfunctional group must band together, in the face of the coming Zombie Apocalypse.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The second season of Fear the Walking Dead averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.19 million total viewers. Compared to season one, it was down by nearly 52% and 45%, respectively.
What do you think? Do you still like the Fear the Walking Dead TV series? Should AMC cancel or renew this TV series, beyond the fourth season? Please sound off, in the comments, below.
TWD cast is the best. Fear the Dead cast is horrible. They are whiny and lack character. The only hope is for them to meet our TWD crew and get their butts reamed. Maybe they will act with some sort of ethical character.
As much as I would like to agree, I’m totally against a crossover for any reason. Fear characters should all be killed off, they really can’t be redeemed. Fear needs to leave TWD alone.
Please cancel FTWD and don’t bother to do a crossover.
Yet critics have enjoyed season 3 and even have it better than that piece of **** season 7 of twd
The ratings don’t lie, Fear is one giant piece of sh** and screw any crossover they want to use to save its dying ass. These “critics” you speak of are likely biased fan users reviewing it, most of them are. Nobody cares about Fear. Time for it to finally die.
“Critics” are simply paid people who will do anything for an interview or junket. Season three of FTWD fell 53% in the key demographic for a reason. Season three FTWD’s premise was unbelievable absurd, and the attempt at social allegory was such an out of touch Hollywood ethos.
Cancel Fear, show sux and we don’t wanna see any crossover.
I stopped watching after this season began, the clincher was when an entire episode was in spanish. I don’t go to forigen films becasue I don’t like reading everything that is said, I miss to much of what is going on. That was also my complaint with the entire series. Reading all the translations got old real quick.
Also, it’s lazy. If it’s gonna be set in Mexico just because they can, they should have used a Mexican family. It’s just a pretence at being culturally appropriate. With a ratings dive like that, I don’t think a crossover will save it, not many people want it around.
x2, Get rid of Nick and Alicia Clark
So that’s Fear over for another year. I don’t think I’ll miss it much. Shocking that even Riverdale is doing better than it now. It’s gonna tank next season I bet.
I gotta say although Fear is still not great, I’m enjoying it more now that Alicia is gone. She was a really annoying character who took up to much time and had the most inconsistent and nonsensical arc on the show. Her absence is already making a massive improvement because they just used her as Twilight bait and a distraction to the main story. I’m glad to see the others and only wish that Fear would bring a bigger selection of women onto the show now that Ophelia is going too.
I agree but I think they should have killed off Alicia, so lazy just to let her walk off. Her character was just another Andrea and she is easily replaced. I hope they get another young girl on the show next season or a strong woman like Carol.
Hey AMC, kill off this waste of space and STOP leeching off The Walking Dead! You are threatening a crossover now because your spin off is on the way out and you wanna shove it in our faces to save it. We don’t care! We don’t want a trashy crossover and we don’t want to be associated with lousy Fear fandom. Kill the spin off.
Amen!

Cancel this, it’s crap and the biggest fail of the century.
This is a great show. Tbh FTWD and the Exorcist are underrated television horror shows. They are the best combination of horror and sub genre (psychology, supernatural, drama, romance, emotions). FTWD isn’t far behind from the iconic TWD.
Complain all you like about people who preach the truth Farah but your booty isn’t big enough to push those ratings back to where it was. It’s dropping for a reason. A sh*t show with a sh*t fandom. Stick to CW. And hellooooo too little too late for there to be zombies now when every other time it was stupid teenagers moaning on boats about their effed up love lives. This is a big pile of poo with 0 quality in acting, casting, plotlines and the cultural appropriation is effed up.
This really is a good show, it had its flaws and dips but so did TWD. People have less faith in it but to be truly honest of TWD was last and FTWD first – you’d be slating TWD. Mud sticks, so does bad gossip – if you didn’t like it doesn’t mean everyone would reach the same lame conclusion. Nowadays people blindly rely on other people’s opinions and believe their views through blind faith and pass on the same **** message to everyone else – without even watching it themselves just to give it the fair shot it deserves.… Read more »
To the idiots who are saying “like I dunno there weren’t enough zombies in the episodes, I mean this a zombie show, right? Where the zombies at?” Etc. Are y’all blind?!
Are YOU? Taking zombies out of 10/12 episodes, then throwing a horde so far into the season, after portraying them as weak irritants easily taken out doesn’t save them from the damage done.
Nobody missed the last episode where there was a horde. But for a zombie show, in its first few seasons, to completely throw zombies aside, throwing us only 1 or 2 episodes, wasn’t good. Zombies in TWD seasons 1 and 2 were actually threatening enough, had actually menacing hordes like the ones in Atlanta and the one that overran the farm.
