Before moving to Spike in 2013, Cops was one of the longest-running TV series on FOX. Now the network is dipping its toe back into familiar waters with the new First Responders Live TV show. Where Cops restricted itself to using law-enforcement as subjects, this Dick Wolf docu-series takes a broader look at the people who ride to the rescue. Does this show have what it takes to win the Nielsen ratings race? Will First Responders Live be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A FOX reality TV series hosted by Josh Elliott, First Responders Live takes is in-depth look examination of firefighters, police officers, and EMTs. With live cameras embedded in several American cities, it follows those first responders who often risk their own lives, as they race toward situations from which many people would flee.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/11 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the First Responders Live TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on FOX?
*Status update: FOX has seemingly cancelled First Responders Live, so there won’t be a second season.
Show stinks. It’s a knock off. The experts are crummy. What is with the grey haired lady that never, ever, smiles. Live PD and Live Rescue more watchable even if you do not like A.B.
I’m so happy when I first saw this show it’s like cops the show but for all the rest of us that serve the public I’ve been a paramedic for over 14 years and I’ll tell you the truth this is about as real and up front as it’s going to get absolutely love the show I hope it goes on for a long time also love that it shows the different departments throughout the states.
Great informational live show. We see first hand what these amazing men and women go through from the start of unknown situations. It shows just how they dedicate their lives to helping others each and every day and not only do they do that, but with empathy and professionalism. We need more of these shows!! Also, thumbs up to the host!
Josh Elliott needs to stop with all the constant hand motions. This is very distracting.
FIRST RESPONDERSMy goodness it’s a great great show
Josh is a fantastic host
It would be great if you could make it a two hour show
SO MUCH BETTER THAN LIVE RESCUE ON A&E
Keep up the good work

I like the idea of the show, however, I do not like the “experts” explaining what’s going on as we are watching. They are talking over the actual responders on scene. It is actually annoying. You can always explain AFTER we watch that section
Take a chapter from Live PD. They let us hear everything from the actual scene. That’s why we watch this show!!!!!!!!
Josh Elliott: Congratulations on your successes. Not surprised you left ABC: i assume you realized it was no longer a serious news show, but entertainment only. When I stumbled on a show you were in, I stuck with it. Your integrity is visible and I know that it will surface in all you do. First Responders is riveting and brings out compassion for the heroes and the subjects.! Please do not cancel this program. Thank you. Sandra Campbell
It needs real city action, this suburban stuff is good, but need real grit. Plus what’s the background on these experts? They don’t seem to me that they worked a day in the field.
A reasonable effort to join the popular “Live” programs already airing but certainly needs some tuning if it’s going to survive. The running commentary from the “experts” is annoying and treats the audience like children. The other networks have realized that we don’t need “experts” that show off all their “expertise” and talk down to the audience. Get real First Responders in there that can comment like regular people with experience, that communicate with each other as well as the audience and don’t interrupt the action. Pay attention to what the other networks are doing… it works!
Another failed attempt at a FOX television show. I mean, FOX goes through garbage television faster than any other network. It’s a fact. 8 thumbs down. Garbage television.
This show as it is presented is very fragmented. Why do the 3 hosts stand at a desk and then stand next to the host as they watch the incident? I think the show would flow better if everyone was seated at a table or desk as does in Live PD and Live Rescue.
I really like this show, but I can’t stand all the commercials. The program can’t even go on for 5 minutes before you have to sit though another around of commercials
Too much talking and leave the action too soon. Need to stick with the story longer
Sad copy of the excellent A&E shows.
The show has potential but the narrative isn’t good. Not enough of the action
