Someone new is joining The Fosters. Deadline reports Shi Ne Nielson will recur on season four of the Freeform TV series.

The show centers on an interracial lesbian couple who are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted children in San Diego. The cast includes Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci, and Cierra Ramirez.

Nielson, who has previously appeared on Freeform’s Chasing Life, will play “Kate O’Brien, a very sharp and extremely capable public defender.” The second half of The Fosters‘ fourth season debuts on January 31st.
