Perhaps because ABC owns General Hospital outright, the network sometimes doesn’t announce if their sole surviving soap opera has been renewed for another season. However, they’d certainly let us know if the show had been cancelled! Since the soap is still airing, we can assume they renewed it for 2015-16. Will GH survive to see a 54th season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.

What do you think? Do you still like General Hospital TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for additional seasons?
My name is Ed Winlslow. I’m a 60 year old man. I can remember GH being on when I was doing my homework in 3rd grade. When I had a job driving trucks I bought a radio with TV band and would take my lunch to listen to it. I was homeless for a short time and found places to watch the show ( hospitals, K Mart, etc.). Now I’m disabled and look forward to watching it everyday.I even schedule Dr. spots so I won’t miss it. I don’t think the world needs another “Talk Show. So PLEASE think about… Read more »
PLEASE keep General Hospital on. It’s the only TV show I watch. Nothing else on TV is worth watching. I’ve been watching it from day one. Always great story lines.
Please don’t cancel. I’ve been watching for 39 years and it’s like the actors are family. It’s already bad enough that One Life to Live and All My Children are gone, along with Soap Weekend at DisneyWorld. During these times of world turmoil, it is so relaxing to watch General Hospital and forget all the rest for an hour every day.
Don’t cancel GH open them doors back up.

Renew. Longevity comforting. Focus more on basic relationships and social issues. Less over the top drama
The last few years plot lines have been a bit over the top, but the longevity of the show is comforting. Social issues have been tackled. Renew. Get a bit more basic about relationships, less phoney drama.
I grew up watching hing GH with my mom and now my son wRxhes it with me. I’m so attached to all of the characters. I would hate to see it go..such memories.
Please don’t cancel !!! I have been watching GH for 20yrs along with my daughter…why every breaking news have to interrupt the program 3 out of 5 episode every week in Florida? No wonder ratings are low.
