As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. The network did cancel The Chew (which replaced All My Children in 2011) so they could expand the Good Morning America brand with GMA Day. Clearly, the ABC execs aren’t afraid to shake up the status quo again. Will General Hospital survive to see a 57th season for the 2019-20 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, Matt Cohen, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Hayley Erin, Genie Francis, Nancy Lee Grahn, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, Lisa LoCicero, Eden McCoy, Billy Miller, Kelly Monaco, Emme Rylan, Michelle Stafford, Kirsten Storms, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

Dont watch general hospital because they killed oscar it was a horrible thing to so i have lost my respect fans made it what it was and didnt consider our feelings
Footnote do not cancel….improve storylines/writers and stop all the deaths. Michael and Sarah in my view, not even close to The Chew. Turn the channel everyday…enough talk junk!
Loved the show until Kiki and now Oscar died. Very frustrated…..was hoping Drew would remember his past and they would be a family. Very unresolved storyline. DOD is so boring! My feeling now is “Meh”!

I know a lot of people will not be watching ABC anymore! I love General Hospital! You have enough talk shows talking about the same crap same stars, and talking about the shows that are on or coming on. If you get rid of them people will go to other soaps to watch! Why can’t you leave well enough alone!!!
I love general hospital You really can’t go by the ratings if people are just asked if they watched that week The problem with this is if you look at the weeks where ratings “dropped” it was a holiday or the show was pre-empted for breaking “news” like a 6 hour funeral procession or watching flames from a fire for 4 hours !(really) I have missed important episodes and wonder if they ever rerun any of these missed episodes
Please do not cancel General Hospital. Been watching for 40 + years . Very disappointed that ABC cancelled its other soaps OLTL & AMC to put on more stupid talk & cooking shows. See how that turned out ! It will be the end of ABC for me if they cancel GH !
Plz don’t cancel general hospital. What I would like to see is moving it to a different time slot like 1:00. Press conferences always come on at 2:00 and we miss so much of the show. GH has been on for so long it deserves a much better time slot. Put fairly new show Stratham & Sara on at 2:00. Plz consider this strongly

I just started watching GH again. I loved the Anniversary episode.
General hospital needs a new head writer the break down writers now head writers are not creative. One of the biggest problem with this show is that they kill off too many main characters and so they keep losing a portion of viewers every time a main character is killed off . Instead of a serial killer storyline how about a manager case return it’s the only way to save this show rebuild the main family’s of this show

Please do NOT cancel this show. I started PVRing it and watch it everyday. I used to watch many years ago and have returned to watching it. I don’t always like the storylines but….. for the most part I love the show.

Pls don’t cancel GH. The demographics of older viewers should b taken into consideration. I hv watched GH for 51 years. It is the high point of my evening. I stream it. Pls don’t cancel it. I would be devastated. So many programs today are just pure crap.
