As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. Will General Hospital survive to see a 58th season for the 2020-21 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Genie Francis, Max Gail, Nancy Lee Grahn, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, William Lipton, Katelyn MacMullen, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Kelly Monaco, Wes Ramsey, Emme Rylan, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

Note: ABC ran out of original episodes with week 35 due to the COVID-19 production shutdown. New episodes resumed with week 46.
For comparisons: The 2018-19 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.30 million total viewers.

I certainly vote 100% that GH remains on the air. I believe we have enough talk shows and people enjoy escaping into the lives and drama that is going on in Port Charles!
I love GH, the actors and the writers and have watched it as long as I can remember. What can we do to keep it on the air?? Does it make any difference in the ratings if you record and don’t watch the show live??
Please do not take General Hospital off the last of the good shows I’m not a talk show Person so I will be very disappointed if you take this off all my household watches lots of my family members watch a lot of us DVR so if that’s the reason why the ratings I’m not showing up please let us know I’ll start back watching it doing the time that is on but a lot of times are not home so it’s just easier to DVR and watch it when I get home and I really hate commercials but I… Read more »
I have watched GH since it’s inception. Watched then with my grandmother. Now I’m a grandmother and I record it every day and look forward to watching at the end of my day. Love it and the characters. Like someone else says, a bit of fantasy is fun. Please don’t take it off the air!
Yes I love this show my daughter and I escape reality watching GH everyday I hope it is not canceled.
I’ve been watching GH for about 42 years. I look forward to it every day & hope you don’t cancel it. We don’t need another talk show. There aren’t many daytime shows I like but I do like GH. I consider myself an intelligent adult & realize some of the story lines are silly. However, a bit of fantasy in my day is fun.
Please don’t cancel GH it’s literally the high light of my day when it’s just me and my handicapped daughter sit together and watch we love it and love talking a bout it later. We love love love it!
Leave General Hospital alone please only good show on beside Chicago cubs baseball.
Please renew General Hospital. My whole day revolves around it. It is my favorite show.
Not realistic, stupid story lines. If they resolved issues in a timely manner, it would be more interesting. I’ve been watching many years. But I’m done now. Goodbye GH.
If and when this show is cancelled, I’ll be honest, I won’t cry. I first started watching in middle school which was right before the arrival of Sonny Corinthos. It was still a really good show for a couple years after that but eventually, went down hill when Sonny became the head crime boss and the mob became the main focus of every single episode from that point on. Please don’t cancel GH I haven’t missed an episode I absolutely love the it’s the only show I enjoy and if the show did get cancelled i would definitely cry I will never enjoy a show like I do GH y’all are the best and all do so great on the story lines and yalls scenes I love u all GH CAST
I have been watching General Hospital since I was in High School..Dr. Hardy days, Luke & laura, plus Elizabeth Taylor…Many many memories. My daughters watch also. I tape it everyday. If it would be canceled, I would be break my heart. This show has been a big part of my life for ever!!!
I have been watching gh since dark shadows was on tv. I would not like it if gh went away. It was sad when all my children and one life to live left. If you took off gh it would be sad and the end of an era. Don’t take it off.

Love GH, been watching it for 40 years. If I can’t watch it live, I record it so I don’t miss a single episode. I’m retired and that’s the ONLY daytime program I watch! My tv is off till GH airs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have watched GH since I was in kindergarten. I am 48 now. I watch every single day. On Hulu at 10:00 pm before bed. Love love love this show
