As has become the norm, ABC didn’t announce if General Hospital had been renewed for another year but the show wasn’t cancelled either. They just kept it on the air. Will General Hospital survive to see a 58th season for the 2020-21 broadcast season? How will it do in the ratings? Stay tuned.
Debuting on April 1st of 1963, General Hospital revolves around the loves, lives, and deaths of the people of Port Charles, New York. The current season’s cast includes Maurice Benard, Tamara Braun, Steve Burton, William deVry, Chad Duell, Michael Easton, Genie Francis, Max Gail, Nancy Lee Grahn, Briana Nicole Henry, Rebecca Herbst, Roger Howarth, Finola Hughes, William Lipton, Katelyn MacMullen, Sofia Mattsson, Eden McCoy, Kelly Monaco, Wes Ramsey, Emme Rylan, Kirsten Storms, Josh Swickard, Donnell Turner, Maura West, and Laura Wright.

For comparisons: The 2018-19 season of General Hospital averaged a 0.53 rating in the 18-49 female demographic with 2.30 million total viewers.

Please don’t cancel General Hospital! I have been watching it since it started and would like to continue watching in my retirement. I look forward to watching it every weekday and when I am away I record it.

Please do not cancel GH. I am a true fan and have been watching it since it began in 1963. My daughter, age 27 is now a dedicated viewer. Like others who commented I am tired of reality TV Shows. The writers of GH do an excellent job creating story lines that are close to home. The story of Sonny and his aging father is helpful to us who manage our aging parents. I would miss my daily GH routine if it was gone. Please keep GH on the air!

Please don’t cancel GH! It’s the only show I watch on ABC network. Like other fans have been watching since childhood with my grandmother also! And yes, please stop with all the talk, reality, and game shows, they’re everywhere as it is!!! Stop taking off our soap operas and start taking off those shows instead! Love GH!!!!!!

General Hospital is my guilty pleasure after working with special needs kids all day. It decompressed me. I have watched General Hospital since the beginning even though I’m only 62. My mother would have it on when I came home from school so it is still a little piece of my childhood and my time with my mom. There are a lot of people who tune in every day that may be housebound for one reason or another. There are truly enough game shows, talk shows and reality shows and those programs don’t last. I love the actors and story lines on General Hospital. I record it every day. Please keep it on TV. It is the only day time show worth watching. We have enough “talk” shows that are all alike and fill the time with silly conversation.
