After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.

In the series finale, the Merriwick cousins get ready to face the mysterious force putting their family legacy at risk while changes are in store for others in “The Wedding,” premiering Sunday, July 25, (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Hallmark Channel. Catherine Bell has starred as the lead character Cassie Nightingale for magical 13 years when Hallmark viewers were first introduced to her in the 2008 original movie “The Good Witch.” The popularity of Cassie and her adventures in the bucolic town of Middleton led to seven more movies. In 2015, the franchise was adapted as a primetime series that enjoyed seven enchanting seasons.

OMG! I am devastated! I found this show on Netflix a few years ago and it is one of my favorite shows ever! It is a feel-good show and I will miss it soooo much! I love ALL of the characters and the storylines are excellent. I watch reruns over and over again, when I just want a show that makes me smile. I’m saddened and upset about this. I hope all of the seasons make it to Netflix and the movies too!
I loved the show when it first started but now it’s just the same as all the others l liked the witch and mystery of the show when it first started but now all these relationships and that’s all they do now is your relationships and how they’re going bad and this and that and very little of the magic part no I I think it’s time to take it off too if it’s getting away with the Good witch and going to a romance show they need to change it back to the format they had before and more… Read more »
I love the show, I own all of the films and every season through Prime video…I watch it over and over..I watch it before drifting off to sleep. I call it my happy show.
As usual network TV is the worst..they just cancel without giving a show a chance to properly have a final season or film to wrap things up. They don’t care about the fans, they only care about money!

I am so disappointed I can’t begin to tell you! These delightful actors were so fun. It was the best part of my week. I’m so sad! Please bring them back. All your fans need you to come back. This world needs this happy show.

Im disappointed that they canceled Good Witch! I’ve watched the seasons over and over again because it’s an amazing show! All because of ratings are down a little.
So you have a decent family show on for a number of successful years and you drop it because your new writers are not doing the job??

Very sad to hear that Hallmark canceled Good Witch. It’s a great show. Watched it for years. Fantastic storyline that provided a nice escape from the daily struggles of everyday life. Wish Hallmark listened to its loyal fan base. Good shows are very scarce these days. Wish Hallmark would reconsider this decision.
I’m sad that it’s not gonna be on. It’s a nice show to watch. I’ve watched every one of the shows and movies. I’ll still watch Hallmark. But in the future I hope they will reconsider another season or updated movies about them.
The show ran out of new ideas. Cassie Nightengale’s face too much botox.
I was upset about the plastic surgery or whatever she had done. She’s so beautiful without all of that stuff!
So disappointed show being cancelled. Don’t understand reasoning. Have watched each show over and over each night. Such an addictive series, clean and wholesome. Would hope they reconsider for sake of tremendous followers. Will really miss Martha. Such a spitfire.
I honestly love each and every individual character in the Good Witch series. Your loss that you dropped it Hallmark!! Maybe if there was a more predictable schedule, it would be better viewed. Not a fan of how Hallmark advertises certain shows for weeks but not all get the same treatment. Will definitely miss all of the Good Witch characters. Still watch first series just as avidly as the last! Thanks for the memories!!

I’m really upset Good Witch was canceled. I faithfully have watched all episodes and movies. This is gonna stink. Maybe I’ll give up the Hallmark channel. This is so not good for them.
