Grey’s Anatomy returned to ABC with its 13th season this week, and the drama will focus heavily on the original cast this season. Could that focus cause a return by one departed cast member?
Sandra Oh left the medical drama at the end of season 10, but her character is still strongly connected to the series. In fact, one of those connections could lead to her Grey’s Anatomy return.
At the end of season 12, Owen Hunt, who is played by Kevin McKidd, got married. He was once married to Sandra Oh’s character. He spoke with Digital Spy about the possibility of Sandra Oh returning to the drama. He said the following:
“I’d love it if she came back, I think she might eventually for fun, for maybe a couple of episodes. I don’t think she’d come back for anything long term, but who the hell knows? I feel like I see Sandra a lot still, we’re still really close friends. We meet up quite regularly. I do miss her, but I feel like I get to see her anywhere.”
As for Hunt’s marriage, McKidd did share Oh’s reaction to the new marriage on the show. He said:
“She was actually! She was joking, but she was a bit like, ‘you didn’t tell me you were getting married!’ You left, Sandra! She’s happy for Owen, really. I think she’s happy he married another Canadian actress.”

Yes! Sandra Oh was one of the most amazing characters on Grey’s. She made a believer out of you no matter whether she was happy or sad, you would be happy or sad with her, she cried we cried.
And was that really the ending for Cristina and Owen? She moved to Switzerland but she has a picture of them on her desk and they were together until she left. Owen got married too soon 🙁
I would love her to come back. She was my favorite character.

Yes, I would love to see Sandra oh back on Grey’s anatomy she is one of the best actresses I have ever seen she’s awesome.
I believe Sandra Oh’s character was magnetically charismatic & bringing her back, no matter for how long, would be great fun. The chemistry & intensity of love between she & “her person” Dr. Gray is the high of grammatical entertainment.
I would LOVE to see Sandra Oh come back!!!!! If they’re concentrating on the originals, then they have to! Christina was such an important part of the story! I love her character so very much! I miss her terribly!!!
