It looks like Harlots is history. Hulu has cancelled the period drama series so, there won’t be a fourth season, reports THR.
Inspired by the lives of real women, Harlots stars Samantha Morton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lesley Manville, Eloise Smyth, and Liv Tyler. Alfie Allen joined season three as the new pimp in town, Isaac Pincher, with Ash Hunter playing his brother, Hal. The story unfolds in 18th century Georgian London and centers on the Wells family, led by brothel-owning matriarch Margaret (Samantha Morton).
The third season kicked off with Margaret having been sent to America in chains, while rival Lydia Quigley (Manville) is in Bedlam. With the help of allies including Lady Fitz (Tyler) the Wells women hope to be free of their mother’s feud. Soon though, Charlotte (Brown-Findlay) realizes running the brothel cultivates enemies.
Based on The Covent Garden Ladies by Hallie Rubenhold, the Harlots TV series launched in March 2017 on Hulu in the United States and on ITV Encore in the United Kingdom. The Harlots show ran for three seasons and 24 episodes, which were all helmed by female directors. The de facto series finale of Harlots was released by Hulu on August 28, 2019.

Having studied this period and particular stratum of society for a considerable time, I’ve loved all three Harlots series because they have managed fantastic accuracy without being dull for a moment. The series makes the real life characters in Rubenhold’s book (on which it is based) come to life. So called ‘Harlots’ were very seldom ‘bad’ women, rather women doing what was necessary to survive in a society which often cast women into one of two categories, wife or *****. Brilliant series. We want season 4!
Amzing cast, amazing writers and mostly created by some, wonderful way to talk about a very important period of history for women financial emancipation. I really hope they manage to bring it back!

I cant belive it!!!! harlots was very well written!!! very well directed from the story line to every tear seen to every wave of the way the hair moves in the wind, dramatic passion yet no soap opera it’s a real masterpiece and the actors all wonderful why during all of these times when we need to escape a bit relax watch something wonderful to take it away from us ? This is so ridiculous to cancel a show that shows lower /shunned women combative against wealthy men and women in power. In the moment while minority voices are finally being heard, shouldn’t that include women? Why take away a story that includes truth, growth, fiction in a positive way, and hope that we can do better while producing great artwork directed by women? #blasphemy #hulusucksforthis #womenmatter
There are SO many reasons to adore this high quality series. From the meticulous art production, writing, filming, and intoxicating acting and direction, Harlots is a series that deserves even more recognition and promotion. I agree wholeheartedly with the viewers’ comments below that a fourth season could really provide closure for fans. Fans have become very attached to these characters, and there’s certainly ample room for further development. The rich stories unfolding still have potential for more. PLEASE BRING BACK A FOURTH SEASON AND THANK YOU TO YOU FABULOUS ACTORS WHOVE TOTALLY ENRAPTURED ME!
I’m bummed there won’t be a fourth or other seasons of Harlots. I’ve been binging the show and I was hoping for a fourth season as I love the show and all it’s drama.

Very sorry Harlots has been canceled. It was done very well as a period piece, and the actors were great. It suffered some when Charlotte died though. I would certainly watch a season four.

I have been binge watching this series. I am on Season 3 right now and am hooked. The story lines are great and there is so much going on. I would be sad if there is no Season 4. There are also some unexpected things (i.e. Charlotte) that keep me interested. We need to have some kind of conclusion to this series. Agreed. It was a series rich in character development, story, humor, and basically real stuff. I was sad to see Charlotte go (hope that wasn’t the killer of the series) but there was so much more that could have happened. Like what happens to William & Emma. Is Fannie a good Bawd? Does Margeret come back? Isabella got her inheritance, but what else? SMH. Left me hanging indeed.
