Sorry, Greg Grunberg. It turns out that Ali Larter might just be right. It seems that the Heroes wrap-up movie isn’t happening.
As fans know all too well, after NBC cancelled Heroes in May, there was talk about wrapping up the TV show’s storylines as either a movie or a mini-series. Despite the fact that some time had passed, series creator Tim Kring recently indicated he was still optimistic.
He said, “It looks like we’re really going to start talking about it now. The summer months in television are always about preparing for the Fall launch of all the new shows, so I totally understand why there hasn’t been a lot of discussion [until now]. Once the Fall season is launched, I fully believe that this discussion will get reignited in a very big way.”
Now, according to EW sources, NBC isn’t going ahead with the project, at least for the 2010-11 season. However, that may not be the end of the Heroes universe. Kring believes that the show’s broad premise allows for many different stories to be told in many different ways.
What do you think? If not onscreen, how would you like to see Heroes continue — as books, comics, animation, web shorts, or in some other form?

It really bothers me tha heroes was cancelled. I won’t get hooked on a show that NBC does again, it will be my last choice in watching TV. Also I won’t be buying the blu-ray DVD series of a series that doesn’t end. Why bother?
I absolutely loved the series….however, the plots were just too sophisticated and complex for viewers to watch once a week. The way to watch it is a season at a time on DVD, like my son and I did. The last season was just as well written and exicting as the first, but the average viewer was unable to assimilate and retain all the character twists and nuances when experiencing a busy week in between shows. Also, T.V. writers should understand (talking to you LOST writers too) that they cannot introduce a plot and then leave it alone for a… Read more »
Pretty disappointing to end heroes like this. All of my colleague were together watching this shows before going for our final exams in med school in 2007. Well, of course, all shows has their ending.. but NBC should at least appreciate their viewers to properly end this series. I prefer another seasons to wrap this shows up. I feel bad…
this show was one of the few shows i liked to watch in the fall, it really bugs me how there getting rid of it,especially with no ending it just stops
This was my favorite show. It sucks that it has ended.
honestly i just finished watching all of them and its unfortunate that the producers and execs of NBC would brush this show off the way they did. when the fall lineup came up i was hoping to see or hear something about heroes but NO. at least give closure to the loyal fans who have watched them and followed the story. regardless as to how they end it they should respect the large group of people who want to see how they intended it to end.
I need my hero fix
If there’s no plans to wrap it up, it’ll follow Law and Order into the history books.
Bring it back at least for a wrap up. A great number of people were following the show and this is the type of show that demands and ending instead.
That sucks! At any rate, I hope NBC doesn’t agree to do some lame 2-hour special that is going to wrap everything up fast and furiously, leaving everyone disappointed. At least do a final season. NBC owes it to its viewers.
I think that this is ******** to be frank. I loved the show. One minute I was watching Heroes and the next week it was gone! I understand cost and time to produce a show, however I do not understand NBC. Without fans they wouldn’t have ratings, without ratings they wouldn’t have a network. Therefore, I believe that they at least owe the fans an ending. Like Claude said they could make it work, they choose not too. They have options, but will they use every connection that they have to make this happen is the question. Movie, wrap up… Read more »
With shows similar too “Heroes” I believe the Brits have it right…have a definite beginning and an end. This way the writers wouldn’t write themselves into a corner and have to come up with some cheesy twist in the plot to try and continue a thread that they’ve started. This worked for “Lost”, it would have worked for “Heroes”. Since we already know the show has been canceled it would make the end a lot easier to close up…this definitely would make for a good mini-series and “Yes” people would watch just to get closure on unanswered questions.
nbc you would leave us hanging not the first time either but let me give you a hint your rating will continue to go down if you continue to not give closer because people will not want to invest ….again and get burned again…..
I loved the show and looked forward to each weekly episode! Although I don’t watch many TV shows regularly I enjoyed immensely the suspense and evolving story line that matched my then interest as a tom boy reading Superman, Green Lantern, or watching Star Trek (William Shatner). I’d like to see a final season which reveals all or at least a movie. Damn!
Lets not call the Executives morons! They made a tough call during a tight economic climate. Advertisers are the ones who agree to support a show by spending thousands and even millions for a slot. When that show looses ratings, the clients are not willing to pay what they use to, thus the cost of support that show becomes even more difficult. I hate to see the show go, but even I stopped watching, there are just too many other quality shows that came out that where on other networks. Mainly ABC, TNT, HBO,SHOWTIME, I’m certain you can figure it… Read more »
