Well, there’s one dangerous situation that Christopher Chance can’t escape. FOX has cancelled Human Target after two seasons on the air. No season three.
Human Target follows a private bodyguard and security expert (Mark Valley) who protects his clients by integrating himself into their lives and becaomes a “human target.” He’s aided by his business partner, Winston (Chi McBride), and a tech genius named Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley). In the second season, a former client (Indira Varma) becomes his benefactor and an expert thief (Janet Montgomery) joins the team to seek redemption.
The series debuted back in January 2010 to a positive 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.12 million total viewers. Subsequent episodes had some solid numbers (thanks in large part to American Idol) but the latter part of the season really declined. The season finale brought in a mere 1.9 rating and season one averaged a 2.9 rating and 9.6 million viewers.
The show was on the bubble for renewal last May but FOX ultimately decided to give the series a second chance to get better ratings. That didn’t pan out.

Last November, season two of Human Target debuted to a week 1.8 rating in the demo and 6.59 million viewers. The network kept it on through the holidays, the ratings got worse, and by January it seemed like they’d given up on the series. The final episodes of the season performed a bit better but, again, thanks to being teamed American Idol. Season two averaged a 1.7 demo rating and 6.4 million viewers.
As one of the network’s lowest scripted series of the season, it seemed like just a matter of time before FOX would cancel Human Target. Last night, they officially did. Despite some devout fans, Human Target just wasn’t a winner in the ratings. After 25 episodes, the show is over.

I would love to see more of this T.V series, as I like watching these genres such as; Leverage, Person of interest and of course Human Target. I could not believe that this was taken down, I see so many positive comments and feedback and I think fox made a mistake taking this down 🙁
I totally agree with every single one of you guys. Human Target is probably the best show I have ever seen and I feel pretty upset about it that this show got cancelled so early. I couldn’t stop watching Human Target until I noticed that the whole series includes 25 episodes only. So I decided to stop watching because I didn’t want to lose this awesome and incredible show immediately. i think the producer is making the worst decision of his life… Human target is the best tele movie series ever…and the actor mark valley fits the profile…. the world needs a hero….the reason why it fails to gain ratings because tv stations chose to air it very late at night coz of violence…well.this movie should be aired at the regular time when all people are still awake not when everyone is sleeping….if it’s about violence then i think the ratings on Tv says it all….PG < MA ..so no problem ..it is up to the viewers to take responsibilities… Read more »
I do totally agree with your opinion. Human Target is my favorite movie series, I couldn’t stop watching until I noticed that it includes 25 episodes only so I stopped because I didn’t want to lose Human Target immediately. After doing some research on why the series got canceled I considered the exact same thing as you did. Broadcasting the show in the night is just not worth, not many people will stay awake and neglect school or work just to watch TV. Also the chance of getting new fans is lesser then. I´m watching it, heck I almost watched season 1 in 2 days.
The show is so awesome, all the special effects and explosions and the characters are interesting.

I just don’t get it how can be to a way more people interesting to watch shows with vampires , witches , rippers , werewolves and aliens … , where there’s the concept of a series a mutually killing members of the warring parties, with more scenes with bloodshed , than a classical action shows. All those mentioned shows are incredibly boring , because there’s no deliberate action , which can be developed on higher level , despite other shows , action among them.
Totally disappointed this show was cancelled by Fox. Was watching this on netflix and at the last episode, wanted to see more. Damn you Fox.
Shows start to lose its fan base when they change the character of the lead. Part of Chance’s charm was his flirtatious and Bondian attraction to pretty women. When they wrongly introduced another main character to challenge his womanizingmthey took away one of the side attractions to the weekly plot. A lot of shows start to die when they lone wolf character starts a serious romance. Why change chemistry?
This was the best show on TV. I can’t believe the low ratings as everyone I know loved the show. Plus, I never watch American Idol.
Cancelling this show was an abomination. It is far better than some of the other shows on right now. Maybe if it were put in a different time slot it may have done better. It’s kind of hard for any show to compete with some of these reality shows. Heck, this was a far better show than the simpson’s or any of the other animated shows. I’m hooked, and have been downloading all episodes. Fox should have promoted this series with previews. It was put together better than 24.
It has everything in the show action, humour, romance, and great characters something the majority of the banal tv shows lack in recent years.

Human Target really was a great show and I’am very sad that there is no Season 3 but at least now I have Person of Interest, which is even better than Human Target.
