Created by Frank Lupo and Stephen J. Cannell, the police drama Hunter debuted in 1984. The NBC series ran for seven seasons and features exploits of L.A. homicide detectives Rick Hunter (Fred Dryer) and his partner Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer).
Season two represents a change for the Hunter TV show in that more emphasis was placed on the chemistry between Hunter and McCall and Dryer and Kramer ad-lib quite a bit. Series regulars include Dryer, Kramer, Garrett Morris, Charles Hallahan, John Amos, Bruce Davison, Darlanne Fluegel, Lauren Lane, Arthur Rosenburg, John Shearin, James Whitmore Jr., Ruby Ramos, Perry Cook, Richard Beauchamp, and Courtney Barilla.
Stories feature the duo foiling plots involving deadly heists, killer porn stars, gangland murders, international terrorists, punk rockers, and more. The second season also includes one of the most memorable episodes of the series, “Rape and Revenge.” This two-part story revolves around a psychotic foreign diplomat who is rejected by McCall. In a shockingly violent scene, he attacks and rapes her in her home.
This four-disc set includes all 23 action-packed episodes from the second season and include guest star performances by Robert Englund, Jane Russell, Rovert Davi, Jesse Ventura, Sheryl Lee Ralph, John Matuszak and Issac Hayes.

Stepfanie is easily the best looking woman on any TV series!
Being a police officer myself, I think Hunter is the MAN!

My parents remember this show! It would be cool to check out!
I hope I win! If I do I’ll take a vacation day off from work to watch it all!
Hunter is my favorite show ever since i was a kid I remember my dad loved it to McCall is my fav
Hunter rocked!!
I would love to win the second season of Hunter
ah, blast from the past, remember watching this show back in the day
Loved how “HUNTER” evolved over the years from the TV version of “Dirty Harry” to a pretty darned good police procedural by the time the series ran its regular run. I actually did a term paper for a college English course on what NBC was calling at the time “the Hunter mini-series event.” It was a three-part arc called “City Under Siege.”
Hunter……….. I wanted to be a football player like the real Fred Dryer and a Cop Like Rick Hunter. And Marry a girl the looked like Dee Dee! I remember in highschool we sat around Denny’s trying to see who could name the most episodes!
Oh wow! That would be insanely awesome if I could win this.
Hoping to win it!
I still get a kick out of how they killed off Hunter’s partner after only a few episodes near the end. All because he wanted her badge. Come on now. That definitely doesn’t “work for me.”
WHOA I forgot about that hair!
Who can forget the Hunter series?! One of the most memorible 80’s cheesey theme songs written! Such a shame they only released the first few seasons to DVD.
