Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
i say they didnt think this through, intelligence was a great show with a lot of potential to be as great as the NCISs and stuff
I have just seen this show on French Television and I love it. I think that it deserved a second season. Too bad but then I still miss Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary and I won’t even get into LOST!
Ludi, I agree with you on the others but please, let’s not talk about LOST because my girl friend and I have been watching it from the beginning on Netflix and just finished season 2. I am beginning to believe that they only put the rating calculators in the homes that they know will watch certain shows so they can justify cancelling a program due to poor viewership when in fact, that show probably has more viewers than a lot of the shows they keep. I for one do not watch half the other shows that are on or could… Read more »

how could you I loved the show not fair
Hey! This can’t be right, how can this happen, it has been m best show ever I was born. Please get the show back for season two. It is real a great show with high rate of creativity. Thank you.
Come on CBS !! Bring on the second season !!
Im really enjoyed this series.. but im just wondering why this series didnt get much rating.. we really waiting for the second season…
was really waiting for this intelliigence show. but anyway one or a few votes can’t make you change for another season.anyway, all an all it waz a great show
Could have called the show Jake 3.0, since Jake 2.0 was also cancelled after one season. 🙁
What kind of end is it ? It can’t end on that. I don’t get it, the show has it all to work. There were action, actors are great, the scenario is great too. I love the show and I believe it’s a shame to end a great show like it.
I think that was stupid well do you really have to wonder why it got canceled people work and there not going to stay up till 10 to watch and did they include the ones that were watched on demand or online I bet they didn’t so that was honestly there own failure and I miss the show already 🙁
No I thought it was a great show I don’t get why if your gonna cancel a series why don’tthey finish it with a ffinal episode
It really is a shame I enjoyed the show and – of course I am a tech geek.
Unfortunately shows like this get cancelled because the dullards on this planet can’t understand them so don’t watch them. God forbid networks actually try to cater for the average or intelligent part of society rather than the masses. Prime example is Big Brother, how on Earth is that show still running?
Its straight B.S finally get a great series and than end it on a cliff hanger really blows balls at least a 2 hr finally to end the show right. Take off big brother
