Fans shouldn’t waste the fourth season of the Killjoys TV show, worrying it will be cancelled too soon. Back in September of last year, Syfy renewed it through season five. Since the fifth season will be the final season on Syfy and Canada’s Space, the question of whether Killjoys will be cancelled or renewed beyond that is moot. Still, we’re tracking the ratings to use them as a benchmark for other Syfy TV series, so stay tuned.
A Syfy science fiction drama, Killjoys stars Aaron Ashmore, Luke Macfarlane, and Hannah John-Kamen. Dutch (John-Kamen), Johnny (Ashmore), and D’avin (Macfarland) are fun-loving, hard living interplanetary bounty hunters. They are sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants across the Quad — a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. The last installment ended with the team separated. As season four kicks off, they know name of their enemy: The Lady, which Syfy describes as an “immeasurable manifestation of evil without beginning or end,” and she’s after the Hullen heir.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The third season of Killjoys on Syfy averaged a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 624,000 viewers.
What do you think? Do you still like the Killjoys TV series? Do you think Syfy should renew this TV show beyond the fifth season, or is that the right time to wrap it up?
Not surprised, honestly. SyFy suits screwed up a solid bloc of Friday night shows that was gaining momentum every season and historically Friday night is already hard enough ratings-wise for live viewing. SyFy and its current shows are dead to me.
Paying the price for Syfy’s failures
Wow, for the season premiere to drop by this much since the last finale is not a good sign…. Is there a reason for this? A sneak peek?
Viewers have stopped watching SYFY, IMO, because of the cancellation of Dark Matter and The Expanse. As well as other shows too that only got a couple of seasons before they were axed. I stopped watching the channel after 12 Monkeys ended.
Dark Matter and The Expanse’s hardcore fans can’t make up 50% of Killjoys’ prior season’s viewership.
Yes, it was already renewed. But to go THIS low, is still not a good look, AT ALL.
Seems like SYFY is headed for bankruptcy soon. They cancel shows that are not affordable, and MAYBE doom the shows that still are.
Yes, I agree viewership isn’t down solely due to canceling DM and TE. But I believe it is a factor. SyFy has gained a reputation over the years of cancelling shows after 2 or 3 seasons. So viewers don’t want to get invested in a SyFy show until its had at least 5 or more seasons, or the series ended. DM and TE are only two examples of this. In Killjoys case, my guess is the majority of viewers just aren’t watching live anymore. This seems to be the case with most sci-fi/fantasy shows. Or possibly some viewers have lost… Read more »
Killjoys isn’t a new show though, to have to depend on being “established”… This is also a sure way to get all new shows cancelled. I also wish people everywhere would understand that when shows are no longer profitable, and are in fact making losses, it’s correct to cancel them. No network deserves to suffer till they become bankrupt just to fulfil the wishes of a small group of people. And cancelled shows don’t really have as large of a “disappointed” fanbase as people think. Yes, every thing is down, and there was no doubt that Killjoys would drop this… Read more »
