Over the past few years, lots of Friday night sitcoms have been cancelled by ABC — shows like Cristela, The Neighbors, and Malibu Country — but Last Man Standing has survived. Will this Tim Allen sitcom hold up in the ratings and survive to see a sixth season? Stay tuned.
On Last Man Standing, Mike Baxter (Allen), marketing director of the Outdoor Man sporting goods stores, continues to stand his ground in a household of women. The rest of the cast includes Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders, Flynn Morrison, Hector Elizondo, Kaitlyn Dever, Molly Ephraim, and Nancy Travis.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/13 update: ABC has renewed this series for a sixth season. Details here.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.85 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Last Man Standing TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a sixth season? How long should it run?
Last Man Standing is smart, funny, and my favorite show. Keep up the great work, Mr. Allen!
Like a few people here, I had never seen “Last Man Standing” until I stumbled upon it on the Hallmark Channel. And I don’t even watch that channel. I was surfing the TV via my remote and somehow stopped for a minute. And kept it on. Now, I’m a really tough critic when it comes to sitcoms and comedies. But this show works on every level. The writing is really good, as is the cast. No one overacts or panders to the camera like, say, “2 Broke Girls”.
Last Man Standing is one of the BEST sitcom programs on television. It’s #1 in my opinion!
Please renew for 2016-17 season. My wife and I along with our 4 grown kids love the show.
Please renew Last Man Standing! It’s one of a few shows we watch on ABC…definitely the only comedy sitcom we watch.
Last Man Standing hands down is the funniest show on TV right now… We watch on Hallmark Channel every night and laugh continuously!!!! We tell everyone we know to watch!!! Please Renew!!
My family and I love this show. Can’t wait till Mandy and Kyle get married. The whole cast is awesome!!
LOVE Last Man Standing!!! I didn’t know about it until I saw it on the Hallmark Channell. I was a little reserved when I first saw it (WITH MY KIDS), got them out of the room and continued to watch. “Most of us” our a Mike Baxter – while some of the older kids are not. It is like FOX NEWS – gives you both sides.
please please do not cancel last man standing. this is one of the better shows on tv. I am so disappointed that nashville has been canceled.
A true bright spot on Friday nights, we don’t miss it! Best sitcom on TV
Please renew for season 6! Best show on TV! Excellent writing, directing, and certainly the actors are outstanding!
For Gosh Sake ABC! What is your problem? This show is so wonderful on a Friday night after all the daily news. I laugh so much and the ensemble of talent is excellent…Mandy’s character from the git is so many of my friends…the ADHD episode has been permanently kept. I am a liberal democrat and I love this show. Take it away after the election if Tim wants to go but please do not leave us without the excellent, snarky writing of this program?
Hope they pick this show up again, Tim Allen is gifted in these sorts of sitcoms and LMS is topical snd more importantly, genuinely funny. With the prevalence of cop shows and reality (so overdone) a true comedy sitcom is a welcome and needed relief at the end of a week.
One of my favorite shows. I have 2 teens and one 22 year old who all love it as well!!
PLEASE – PLEASE = PLEASE RENEW…!! Love the show..!
