Tim Allen and company have had a successful Friday night run with Last Man Standing on ABC. The sitcom has more than enough episodes for syndication so, how long will it continue? Will it be cancelled this time around, or will it be renewed for a seventh season? Stay tuned.
On Last Man Standing, Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) is the marketing director of the Outdoor Man sporting goods stores. He has a wife and three daughters so it can be a little tough to stand his ground and stay in touch with his inner man. The rest of the cast includes Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Christoph Sanders, Hector Elizondo, Flynn Morrison, Jordan Masterson, and Jonathan Adams.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Last year comparison: The fifth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.74 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Last Man Standing TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season?
5/10 update: ABC has cancelled Last Man Standing after six seasons.
I was going to Boycott this Show after the horrible job as a Russian Puppet President Trump has Displayed. Tim has a Right, to his views and so do I. Boycotting is a particular volunteer Right. Smart Move for ABC to have avoided a Hugh Budget Failure and loss of Viewership. ABC’s got a pretty good News Department, they might have a Pulse on what’s pieces fall next on this Russian
Treason Scandal???
I am very sad to hear that ABC cancelled”Last Man Standing”. This is one of our family’s favorite shows. I hope another network picks it up.
Please keep this show. This is the one show my home watches regularly at it’s scheduled time. We are more of a Netflix, Amazon, Hulu household. It is also the one show that my parents (in their 60s), me (in my 40s), and my kids (13 and 12) watch. Three generations watching the same show is rare now days. When my parents call they ask if I saw the last episode. ABC you have a real gem. Don’t throw it away.
Keep the show, it’s funny, insightful, and honest… alot like All in the Family, just modern.
Sad, good solid comedy on serious topics. I looked forward to Friday, and recorded also.
Are you kidding? Why can’t we just watch the few decent, truly entertaining shows on TV without being worried about political correctness?!?! It’s Tim Allen along with a great cast and it’s FUNNY. Bad move ABC. I hope another network has the brains and the chops to keep this show going. I think I’m about done with ABC.
ABC is really losing it in cancelling a great show like Last Man Standing. I guess ABC execs are showing their true colors in shutting down any shows that have anything other than a liberal slant. Some of the other shows they renewed are a joke. And now they think rebooting American Idol is going to save them? Doubt that.
Oh well, don’t need ABC On the channel line up any longer.
Probably the funniest show on tv. Head and shoulders above Modern Family.
I stopped watching modern family years ago. Nothing left on ABC that I would waste my time watching.
This is b.s. there ain’t nothing wrong with this show. I grow up watching tool time with Tim with my dad. And when this show came on it was the best then I have seen on tv for awhile. Just bc people can’t deal with what he says on tv doesn’t mean nothing. I think you need to do season 7!
We love this show and do not want it canceled. It is a show the whole family can watch. It is clean and funny and there needs to be a variety in programming for all types of likes.
Totally disappointed in ABC.
Last Man Standing is a great show. My family and I never miss it on Fridays. And we watch the reruns too.
I hope another network will pick up the show. It is the funniest, most relevant show on TV. It highlights the situations of today’s families, relating the consequences of different solutions. I only discovered it this year while recuperating from chemo treatments. It was the only thing that made me laugh, sometimes uncontrollably. I have now watched every show of the 6 seasons. I especially enjoyed the Home Improvement actors who had parts on this show. Laughter heals. Bring Last Man Standing back, someone!
I love this show, but it WILL be canceled because Tim takes funny shots at the snowflakes. We can not have any kind of truth on tv.
Only ABC show I watch regularly. Family oriented and funny. Friday now becomes totally CBS. What idiots.
Save this show. One of the best friday shows ever. Can watch with whole family. Makes everyone laugh.
