CBS debuted two new comedies last season. They cancelled one (The McCarthys) and renewed the other (The Odd Couple). How will Life in Pieces perform in the ratings. Will it get a second season? Stay tuned.
Life in Pieces revolves around four branches of the Short family tree and their sometimes awkward, funny, and touching milestones. The cast includes James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Thomas Sadoski, Angelique Cabral, Colin Hanks, Zoe Lister-Jones, Niall Cunningham, Betsy Brandt, and Dan Bakkedahl.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/31 update: Now that season one is over, will this show be renewed for a second season? Should it be cancelled?
4/1 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Life in Pieces TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I want this show to be cancelled by the end of it’s first season. It’s very vulgar. The ratings are to good for it to be cancelled. Please stop watching it. It needs to be cancelled. It is very inappropriate. You know if you watch this you are helping pollute kids minds. Please stop. Watch more family friendly shows, just not this repulsive show.
Greg–You should definitely stop watching the show and you should also definitely stop decreeing what is appropriate or inappropriate for all. It doesn’t “need” to be cancelled simply because you’ve determined it doesn’t suit your personal household. You stop watching it and we will decide on our own. As you referenced, many of us like the show and we hope that you’re statement is correct–that ratings are too (not ‘to’) good.for this witty and fresh show to be cancelled.
Choices are good–thankfully you have the choice to change the channel. Just please don’t assume your choices are mine.
It does need to be cancelled. In the last episode 10.26 million people filled their minds with garbage. Those people should be watching shows with good values. I know shows with good values are hard to find these days but I want to make it easier. To help me make it easier never watch this show again, never watch the ABC Family show Becoming Us, the NBC show Truth be Told, the Disney XD show Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, the upcoming TV Land show Teachers, the upcoming ABC show The Real O’neals, the upcoming FOX show’s Lucifer and… Read more »
You don’t get my meaning apparently so let me be clearer. My point is that I find your comments offensive, I do not find this show offensive to me. But, you trying to tell me what ‘good values’ are based on your own, narrow personal perceptions is offensive. We like the show. We don’t agree with your insularly defined idea of ‘good values’ and wish you would understand how wrong it is for you to tell people what they ‘should be watching’ or what to ‘fill their minds’ with. You are not the morality police for everyone–you really aren’t and… Read more »
If I’m not the morality police, no one else would be. Because of shows like this people are losing their morals. I’m sorry that I offended you, but this needs to go off. And I promise I will get it cancelled.
Greg, you are correct, some day it wil be cancelled. Whether that is this year, five years from now or some other time, will depend on the number of people who enjoy watching the show. And plenty do.
I don’t watch many shows, but I do watch this one because it doesn’t force fakeness on you.
It is immoral to force other people to live your life. And to close, according to the Constitituion we have freedom of expression.
You, Greg do not need to promise anything about cancelling just stop now and forever.
I totally agree with you.
Greg, can you please stop telling people to stop? What if people actually want to watch the show. I’m pretty sure you have made your point!! Stop please. It does not need to be cancelled.
Love the show. It’s HYSTERICAL!!!
My favorite show on TV right now the writers are brilliant. The cast is excellent. Not every story does it for everyone, but there are so many that are top notch. I love that I can sit down for 5 minutes and watch one. Keep it on! It is bound to catch on more and more.
Love this show! Feels like the new Modern Family before it jumped the shark. Laugh out loud funny! Will be so sad if it gets cancelled – it’s one of the few shows on now that doesn’t feel stale.
This show is awesome
Please stop watching this show. It is very inappropriate.
Actually, it isn’t at all It isn’t inappropriate for me–quite the opposite and I find it funny and at times insightful.
But, your outlook is appreciated and if the show in inappropriate to you, then you should definitely stop watching it.
It is inappropriate. It is vulgar and repulsive. Watch more family friendly shows. Just not this one. I do this thing where I take a few new shows that I find to inappropriate for people and spread the word so it will be cancelled. 8 of the shows I have chosen have been cancelled and sadly 8 have been renewed (I count it as a failure if it is renewed for a second season) I know it may be funny at points but think of all the children watching who’s minds are being polluted. What happened to the family sitcoms… Read more »
It may be innapropriate for children that are not used to seeing this stuff. But I suggest that children 10-12+ should be able to watch it with their family. That’s just me.
Love this show. Great cast – really appreciate the fact there is NO laugh track. Have high hopes for season 2. This is one of the very few new shows I watch.
I had high hopes for Life In Pieces. It has a top notch cast, great time slot, following one of the highest rated shows, The Big Bang Theory, but it just hasn’t lived up to my expectations. The episode on Nov. 5th was better than some of the others I’ve watched, so I’m hoping the writers will get it together and turn this into a funny show, worthy of my DVR. The only reason I even watch it is because of its time slot, following The Big Bang Theory!
I love this show. It’s very relatable and the cast is perfect. I agree with the PP – Big Bang Theory? Really?
This is the best new show on this season! Fresh, funny and smart! Great quirky humor every parent can identify with!
How anyone can say that Life in Pieces is “Really Stupid” then go on to watch The Big Bang Theory is beyond me.
Really stupid! First episode was disgusting! I’m afraid I’m helping your ratings though because I leave my TV on Ch. 6 when I watch The Big Bang Theory that I just recorded. I do that so I won’t miss the beginning of Scorpion.
Love Life in Pieces, it is laugh out loud funny!!!!
I love this show! Which I really hate to say, because every time I love a show, it gets cancelled……..hope I didn’t jinx it cuz it’s a great show!! Give it a chance!
I hope you did jinx it
Good show
Love this show. Very funny without annoying laugh tracks. Best new comedy in a long time. Don’t cancel!
