What’s in store for the series finale of Life in Pieces? Recently, creator Justin Adler spoke with TVInsider about the end of the CBS TV show.
The family sitcom, which is currently in its fourth and final season, follows four branches of the Short family tree. Although they’re a big happy clan, that doesn’t mean there are no awkward moments amidst their funny and moving milestones. The cast includes Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister-Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett, Giselle Eisenberg, and Hunter King.
In the interview, Adler revealed the upcoming Life in Pieces series finale was “never designed as a series finale.” So what can fans expect from the end of the CBS TV show?
Adler says a job opportunity for Matt (Sadoski) will test his relationship with Colleen (Cabral):
Just as he finally has a family, a dream job threatens to separate him from those he loves most. It felt real to us.”
The series finale of Life in Pieces debuts on CBS tonight, June 27th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Do you watch Life in Pieces? Would you have watched a fifth season?
What a big disappointment to just find out that there is no season 5 of “Life in Pieces” but then that is the way it goes when there is a really good family show. I really think that someone else needs to make these decisions, uh like the viewers!!
My husband and I love this show. We watched it when it was first run episodes and we continue to watch them. The show would make us laugh so hard at times that we would cry and have to back up and see what we missed because we were laughing so hard. Recommended it to so many people who felt the same way. We are over 65 so I’m guessing we’re not an important demographic for CBS. So funny but also a “feel good” show. Loved all the characters. I learned a long time ago that most network TV stations… Read more »
A sitcom where you can laugh and cry and not lose a beat in your daily busy life is what we needed. TV execs never ask the “real” people what we want to watch and have still on the air. At least one more season is what this real-life working mom needed. Bummer.
Love this show. Loved every single character and my grandkids now call me pop-pop. We even love all the guest characters like the Pest control guy. Many times it seemed he was adlibbing and cracking the characters up.
Huge mistake by CBS Best cast ..so much fun to watch loved every one. Laughed out loud while locked down and the country in Turmole..i have a feeling CBS is the station that has become the racist., under Mr Patrick’s direction….. just because we loved to see our white culture for a change. Not having a family with all races does not mean it cannot be part of the American culture. ..
Pls pls bring it back!!! The show made my husband and I laugh (sometimes hard good laugh that shook off the entire house!!)
Life in Pieces was a terrific show with an excellent cast, would love to see it return. Also, The Unicorn is a good show, very witty, would like it to return also.
My husband and I absolutely loved this show. I really hope it is brought back for more seasons. If not, at least show reruns.
There are so many crappy shows on tv. This was actually a great one. Just caught it during the pandemic! LOVE IT! I’ve recommended it to so many people! We need closure !!!!!!
Just finished watching Seasons 1-4 and it was fabulous. I hope there is some way that a network would put this back on the air! I really think a Season 5 is needed!
Love this show!!!! Please don’t cancel!! I have many friends who like it too
Yes I loved this show, great character development, writing, and acting ensemble. Too smart for CBS ? Bad call guys.
We loved this show and were so surprised it was not renewed for a 5th season. Poor decision on the part of CBS …
When will the show return? It was hilarious!
I love the show Life in Pieces. I’m still hoping for a comeback season.
