Cary Elwes is coming to CBS. The Wrap reports the actor will guest star in season two of Life in Pieces.

The comedy revolves around four branches of the Short family tree and their sometimes awkward, funny, and touching milestones. The cast includes James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Thomas Sadoski, Angelique Cabral, Colin Hanks, Zoe Lister-Jones, Niall Cunningham, Betsy Brandt, and Dan Bakkedahl.

In season two, Elwes will play “Professor Sinclair Wilde, Joan’s (Dianne Wiest) pretentious college writing professor who takes quite a liking to her work, much to John’s (James Brolin) dismay.”

The new season of Life in Pieces debuts Thursday, October 27th, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
