Though The CW hasn’t announced that struggling Life Unexpected is officially over, the studio has subtly confirmed the cancellation.
Life Unexpected is centered around a teenager named Lux (Brittany Robertson). She’s spent most of her life bouncing from one foster home to another, decides to get emancipated, and ends up meeting her biological family. The series also stars Shiri Appleby, Kristoffer Polaha, Kerr Smith, Reggie Austin, and Austin Basis.
The TV show was renewed for a second season last spring despite middling ratings. Season one averaged a 1.6 rating in the target 18-34 female demographic and two million viewers. The network no doubt hoped that it would catch on in season two but that hasn’t happened.
Viewership for Life Unexpected has dropped dramatically this season and the show’s been averaging a 1.2 rating with 1.5 million total viewers. It’s easily the lowest-rated show on the network and the only series that didn’t receive a pickup for the back nine episodes. The final installments of the season will air in January.
Warner Bros. has now announced that Life Unexpected: The Complete Series
Word is that writers have had enough notice to at least wrap up most of the show’s ongoing storylines. We’ll have to wait and see to find out if they satisfy viewers.

PLEASE don’t cancel Life Unexpected!! It is one of my favorite shows – my roommate and I watch it every week. It is so sad that people are tuning in to such garbage such as One Tree Hill (which I used to LOVE, but COME ON, after season 4 Tree Hill went Down Hill). Point is, LU is a great show and it would be such a waste of a great story if it isn’t picked up for another season. i love this show and can’t believe they would cancel it. It’s a great show that i think a lot of people can relate to! I just watched the finale whivh you could tell was a goodbye and i was very upset. I think it should be brought back or the CW will lose a lot of viewers.
Just like Everwood they have killed good show. I didn;t even know seson 2 had strted up again. I think the WB didn’t try much to make the second season a success.
I absolutely love this show and I have watched it religiously every Tuesday night at nine pm since the show premiered. Always live never missed a show. I absolutely agree with you lol. I believe another reason the show was canceled is that they didn’t really advertise it. I don’t believe a lot of people new about it, it really had the potential to be one of the greatest shows the CW has. You guys should really consider on bringing it back.
I hate that the show ended the way it did I loved that show. It was like the writers had no time to wrap it up they ruined it. So the Cw can suck it!
I agree. Ilove this. Just finished watching and may I say….I hated how it ended. They should have just ended if with the trial and cut out the whole Emma affair thing. I mean urgh! they should look at ratings internationally, i know so many people that watch it and love it over here in the UK. Also i honestly bet a lot of people watch it online, not just through the CW website but internationally through other websites too. I wish that they would renew it again, it’s so much better than the abomination that is gossip girl. These past years, there have been too many cancelled shows that I loved . That’s a pity cause new ideas for 2011 seem to suck. I love TV series which look simple, which are not too ambitious, this kind on schedules which doesn’t have a lot of fans but very believer. Veronica Mars is the best example…
Once again another great show cancelled. I had not watched the CW ever since it was the WB and Angel was cancelled. That was until this show came along. Lost me for good now.
I really love this show. I think that a lot has to do with DVR boxes. I hardly ever watch this show live i record it and watch it at a later time.
I wish that they would reconsider.

This makes me so mad! I absolutely love this show. I don’t understand why its viewers and ratings are so low. I feel like if more people watched it, they would like it and the ratings would go up. Everyone I know that has ever watched it, loves it. Plus, season 2 has been amazing so far. The story is so unlike that of every other show, and I think that is what I love about it. I wish there was something to do, but I guess it’s too late.

I totally do not agree with you, I think season 2 is so much better. We finally find some things out about Lux’s past. Baze finally starts dating someone maturer and Lux has a new beau.
I love the series and I hate it’s going to end.
