TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Please do NOT cancel Longmire. I look forward to the show every Monday Night on A&E. In fact I watch the re-runs of the show weekly . I love westerns and this show has proven to be the BEST since John Wayne movies !!! Please bring Longmire back in 2015.
If they cancel “Longmire” and keep showing mindless drivel like “Big-Brother”, “Survivor” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, the executives @ A & E should be strung-up and forced to watch every episode of those shows on a continuous loop till they go insane. “Longmire” is quality entertainment and the relationships between the characters make the show… I agree with other comments that this is one of the best shows to air in many, many years and could/should continue on for many more….
Please do NOT cancel Longmire. I look forward to the show every Monday Night on TNT. In fact I watch the re-runs of the show weekly . I love westerns and this show has proven to be the BEST since John Wayne movies !!! Please bring Longmire back in 2015.
FYI, Longmire is on A&E not TNT.
Please keep this show on tv. It is the best show on a&e now and on tv. You took off Burn Notice which was a good show too. Please do not take Longmire off tv.
One of the beast series on the air. I will watch it as long as it runs. I have read all of the books. Hope the series lasts a long time.
Best show on tv…..please please renew
Awesome series. Has everything you look for.
I noticed longmire is not on the schedule after tonight (august 4, 2014.) Does this mean it’s cancelled. I hope not. This is my favorite show ever. The acting is great, and I can’t think of any actor that could play longmire better. He is a natural. If they cancel it all never watch A&E again. I can’t believe you put all those stupid reality shows on full time ,and not have longmire on all season long. Those reality shows have no talent. I watch shows for integrity, talent, and good acting. ALSO WHERE IS BATES MOTEL? THATS ANOTHER GREAT… Read more »
The 8/4 airing was the season 3 finale of Longmire. No decision has been announced yet about renewal for season 4. Hopefully A&E will be smart enough to realize what a gem they have and renew it and it will be back in June 2015. I can’t stand Bates Motel but the Bates season runs from the late winter/early spring. It will be back in 2015 unfortunately.
HOLY CRAP! What an awesome season finale. I laughed, I cried. It just must come back for another season.
HELP SAVE LONGMIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Longmire is one of the best drama series presently on TV. I hope A & E decide to keep the show.
Longmire is the best show handsdown. This is one show that should be continued for many years. The show was excellent before the mystery of his wife’s death came up. It will be an excellent show after the great mystery is solved. The relationships between the characters is what makes this the best show on television.
The books as excellent as well. But if you don’t want read them, the episodes do follow the books very well.
I saw Deputy Ferg get killed off last year. Now, I’m watching the latest series and he is alive and kickin? What’s up?
Deputy Ferg has never been shot or killed. Perhaps you’re thinking of Deputy Branch Connally that was shot in the season finale (episode 13) of season 2. and we were left with Walt carrying him back to the Bronco to get him help. You can find out what happened to Branch in episode 1 of season 3.
I love the show. Can’t wait to see the finale. I hope it comes back next year. The best show on TV right now. Characters are great.
I’m curious as to whether A&E promotes Longmire during their other TV shows as much as they promote their other junk TV shows during Longmire. I really don’t know because there’s nothing else on A&E that I want to watch. I think the demographic to which A&E should aim may be 40 and older. On the other hand, Longmire may be a better fit for another network that has at least some shows geared toward older viewers. All I can say is LONGMIRE NEEDS RENEWED — sooner rather than later. And, if A&E does the unthinkable, another network should step… Read more »
What a great alternative to all of the asinine “reality” programs. Please do not cancel!!
