TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Longmire is a very entertaining show and should not be cancelled. Not only are the episode plots intriguing, they show off the natural beauty of west. We need shows like this on the air. What is wrong with you, A & E ?!?
I’m am so upset about this show being cancelled. My husband and I both looked forward to watching it each week. It was one of the best series on TV. What are they thinking?
Longmire is the best show and how A&E could cancel it is a crime. All the other things they show is junk. There are still people around that actually have working brains and do no watch stupid reality shows that have no value at all To leave the show’s finale hanging like that would draw even more viewers I will not watch your network again if you do not renew this wonderful show. A&E – you do not show art or entertainment anymore – you should change your name to Idiots & No Value Network
When I heard this I could not believe it, in one sentence they say it is the most popular show on A&E and the next they say it is canceled. I want Longmire back, I have read the entire series in books and I look forward to seeing the show on A&E.
Somebody out there needs to pick this up or maybe do the Netflix route.
Wow! Firefly’d!!
Surely some network executive, somewhere, will realize the gold mine they have in Longmire and will pick it up. If A&E recants this decision and picks it up for season 4 and far beyond I’ll watch A&E…else, I will not watch another A&E program…period!
Of all the BS crap that is on TV, including soe of the shows on A&E, and they cancel Longmire. All that’s left is those hillbilly reality shows. Nothing on A&E I want to watch now.
Longmire should most DEFINITELY be kept! One of the best written and acted shows with an excellent story line. If the AE channel wont keep it active then another “better” channel should keep it active.
Can’t flippin’ believe this! Every time there’s a good show that I get interested in and like, some nitwit decides to cancel it and keep CRAP for programming with shows like Honey Boo Boo and other inane drivel like it. If this show is indeed cancelled, I will not watch a single A&E program or any other channel affiliated with them.
This is the dumbest move I have ever heard of. Hopefully someone picks it up.
I have never written regarding the cancellation of a show before, but when I saw Longmire was being cancelled I couldn’t believe it! This is one of the most well-written, character driven shows on TV. Looks like you have lost another viewer A&E. Don’t know who is making the decisions, but this one is truly a major mistake!
Can’t believe this. We will really miss Longmire. Why watch A&E anymore? What dumb ass exec made that decision?
How can A & E decide to cancel one of the few intelligent, well written and well acted shows on TV. It is a prime example of the dumbing down of America. A & E will lose a loyal following who are certainly not going to stay around to watch Duck Dynasty or the equivalent.
Renew it. It’s one of the few series where you don’t have to worry about “Honey Boo Boo’s or Big Brother trash showing up. It’s time we stood up for good tv and not all of this reality crap that’s out there now. Life is hard enough, why do we have to be subjected to crap about someone else’s life, be it fake or “real?”
Renew it!!!! Awesome show….
Should not have been cancelled. Was a great show. Cancel some of these dumb reality shows.
