A new dramatic TV series on FOX, Lucifer created a bit of an uproar before it even premiered. The One Million Moms group wants the show to be cancelled and some religious people feel the same way. That’s not likely to have an effect on the show’s future but the ratings sure will. How’s the Lucifer TV show doing? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
On the Lucifer TV show, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, he’s enjoying his retirement while owning a nightclub. His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. He starts to have feelings of compassion for the first time in billions of years and ends up helping a homicide detective (Lauren German). The rest of the cast includes Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, D. B. Woodside, and Scarlett Estevez.
The series debuted in January to a 2.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.16 million viewers. That was a very positive start, especially considering the state of the rest of FOX’s drama series.
In week two, the ratings fell to a 1.95 in the demo and 6.0 million viewers, a decline of nearly 20% in the demo. The numbers have essentially kept falling lower each week (though there was a slight bump upward in week seven). Last week’s installment, episode eight, hit a new low in the ratings and hit a 1.21 in the demo and 3.86 million.
The eight episodes have averaged a 1.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.08 million viewers.
The rest of the FOX schedule is in poor shape so it’s currently the network’s third-highest rated drama of the season (behind Empire and The X-Files). That may be enough to secure Lucifer a second season but it’s very concerning that the series continues to lose viewers. That may be enough to sink the series. We’ll likely have to wait until May to find out for sure.
But, what do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? If you ran the network, would you cancel or keep it?
Keep Lucifer on for another season . The show is Better then half the shows that are on more than 1 season.
You need to keep the show ,some people just need to get over it ,God Lord (lol) we have alot worse shows on TV then this ,I love the show something worth watching !!!!
Love Lucifer, the scenes between Tom Ellis and Lauren Graham are great!! It is one of the very few shows I watch live and look forward to it weekly!

I have very little time to watch TV and this is the one show I will tape and actually make time to watch! It’s amusing and has great cast interaction. A bit refreshing in an age of technological and period TV. Give it a chance!!

Yes please renew it, it is very charming with endearing characters, has a lot of potential and a good comedic touch. I also like the fact that it shows how good can prevail over evil and gives humanity hope,
Keep it! Makes us think. Very well done and a difficult subject. And that Tom Ellis is such a hottie doesn’t hurt!
Love this show! Keep it going.
Please keep this show. Didn’t like it at first, but it really grew on me.
Oh man Keep Lucifer Please!!! It is by far the best tongue in cheek, sexual innuendo filled satirical show Ever!!! I haven’t laughed so hard as to have tears run down my cheeks with a show since well, since having grown up in the UK as a child and being exposed to such cheeky shows like Benny Hill and The Two Ronnie’s ( another comedic series in the UK) sure they weren’t child appropriate shows but the UK has different views where sexuality and nudity go compaired to us here in the US; to people in Europe; American’s a prudes,… Read more »
Please keep the show going. I was skeptical at first, but it is definitely entertaining on so many levels.
KEEP KEEP KEEP!!!!!
