A new dramatic TV series on FOX, Lucifer created a bit of an uproar before it even premiered. The One Million Moms group wants the show to be cancelled and some religious people feel the same way. That’s not likely to have an effect on the show’s future but the ratings sure will. How’s the Lucifer TV show doing? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
On the Lucifer TV show, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, he’s enjoying his retirement while owning a nightclub. His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. He starts to have feelings of compassion for the first time in billions of years and ends up helping a homicide detective (Lauren German). The rest of the cast includes Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, D. B. Woodside, and Scarlett Estevez.
The series debuted in January to a 2.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.16 million viewers. That was a very positive start, especially considering the state of the rest of FOX’s drama series.
In week two, the ratings fell to a 1.95 in the demo and 6.0 million viewers, a decline of nearly 20% in the demo. The numbers have essentially kept falling lower each week (though there was a slight bump upward in week seven). Last week’s installment, episode eight, hit a new low in the ratings and hit a 1.21 in the demo and 3.86 million.
The eight episodes have averaged a 1.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.08 million viewers.
The rest of the FOX schedule is in poor shape so it’s currently the network’s third-highest rated drama of the season (behind Empire and The X-Files). That may be enough to secure Lucifer a second season but it’s very concerning that the series continues to lose viewers. That may be enough to sink the series. We’ll likely have to wait until May to find out for sure.
But, what do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? If you ran the network, would you cancel or keep it?
I like the show and would like to continue to watch the series. Please, do not cancel the show.
The show grew on me and I see a plot that could really take off now, so I’m hoping it stays on for at least a couple more seasons!!!
I love the show, lucifer deal his justice at the same time enjoying his place of business.love it.
I like it,
Keep

Such fun to watch, irreverent, bold, amusing
I enjoyed the series. It’s very good entertainment, with little bit of humor. Main actor/ actors were choose very well. Tom is excellent type for the role. Please, keep going. I didn’t have feeling, that movie was promoting anything bad, crime is unfortunately part of our daily life, and we can’t blame others for that.
It’s a mystery drama as an other series on TV.
I love Lucifer – It’s different and I’m a Catholic and I do not find it offensive. It’s funny, dramatic and very entertaining. Please don’t cancel this show!
I love the series! Love the way they work in religious info and the bits of comedy. It’s hard to take it seriously. Why can’t people enjoy without looking for a hidden message. It’s called entertainment.
Great series! Love the lines and we enjoy laughing throughout the shows. Music and singing great too!
I LOVEEEEE THIS SERIES!!! all my friends do it has an amazing story line! So what if he’s the ‘devil’ no one freaks out when it’s just a demon. What I’m saying is I love it and want it to keep going and stay going more seasons!!!
Love it!
I LOVE this show! Please don’t cancel it! Some people use to think Bewitched was a bad show.
I think fox should keep Lucifer. It is incredibly funny and entertaining. Why should the million moms and false religious people get there own way every time. Their children shouldn’t be watching this they should be in bed. And if they don’t like it there are other channel’s. That goes for the others too. Keep Lucifer its a brilliant series Fox
Nice twist to a great story. Why would you get rid of a great show.
Love it, please keep
